As Dons game is the Sunday is anyone planning to head to any of the 2nd round games? Thinking of heading to Edinburgh City (who have just signed Russel Latapy) v Irvine Meadow myself.

Great result for Devronvale. Not sure there were any other shocks although the Broch managed a draw with Elgin and the Bloo Toon actually won a game  :o

Feel sorry for Golspie.  Must be the longest journey in senior football, all to get humped in front of what was no doubt 2 men and a dog, probably barely broke even even counting prize money.

One more round till we join the fray and one game still to be played tomorrow - 'Shire v Buckie

    Alloa 2-2 Annan Athletic

    Auchinleck T 8-1 Threave Rvrs

    Boness Utd 2-1 Whitehill W

    Clachnacuddin 1-1 Inverurie Locos

    Culter 0-2 Spartans

    Deveronvale 4-0 Berwick

    Edinburgh City 0-1 Irvine Meadow

    Fraserburgh 0-0 Elgin

    Gala Fairydean 5-2 Golspie Sutherland

    Huntly 0-3 Queen's Park

    Montrose 2-1 Clyde

    Peterhead 2-0 Nairn County

Vale Of Leithen 3-2 Cove Rangers

From the non-league side of things some pretty tough draws there.

Home advantage for Spartans and Medda but you'd still fancy fairly comfortable wins for the 1st Division sides, equally Morton should easily beat Devronvale.

Gala are pish so easy game for Airdrie and Arbroath should beat Keith.

Perhaps if the Broch can overcome Elgin they might fancy a chance vs Queen's as would Locos v the Bloo Toon

Bo'nee and Buckie will maybe feel they also have chances but the only non league fairly certain of going through will be Talbot.

Anyone fancy a wee trip to deepest darkest Ayrshire in round 4?

Spartans might not get the chance as they are under investigation for fielding an illegible player and if guilty will be kicked out.

Scottish Cup update

Posted on Wednesday, October 26th, 2011

The club is aware that the SFA are investigating whether we fielded an ineligible player in our Scottish Cup game against Culter last week.

Chairman Craig Graham said “We are awaiting to be advised of the next steps. Naturally we cannot comment further until we hear more from the SFA.”

The “draw” has us at home to Partick Thistle in the next round…obviously we may not be in the next round.

Spartans oot, Culter back in: http://sport.stv.tv/football/scottish-cup/278504-spartans-thrown-out-of-scottish-cup/

Spartans have been thrown out of the Scottish Cup after being found guilty of fielding an ineligible player in the second round.

The East of Scotland League side included Keith McLeod in their win over Culter in October.

But it later emerged that the player’s registration documents had been incorrectly completed, rendering him unavailable to feature.

A Scottish Football Association hearing on Thursday confirmed Spartans’ fate, meaning Culter will now play Partick Thistle in the third round on November 19. Spartans have also been issued with a £4,000 fine, which is suspended for 12 months.

“Obviously the outcome from today’s panel is disappointing," Spartans chairman Craig Graham told the club's official website. "We wish Culter well against Partick Thistle.

"It’s always tricky for a club like ours with volunteers in all the key positions. However we have made a number of changes to help ensure does a mistake doesn’t occur again in the future.

"I apologise to our players, coaching staff and supporters for what has happened, however I know we will bounce back.

We have far too many great things happening at Spartans with fantastic people involved to allow this to be anything more than a minor setback."

The SFA’s rules on clubs fielding ineligible players were tightened at the start of last season, stating that sides would be expelled if found guilty.

McLeod has been with Spartans for 10 years, signing a new contract with the club in the summer.

SFA protocol dictates a contract must be dated twice when a copy is sent to Hampden but was only dated once when it was received.

Stunning result from Culter and nice to see Jackie getting some much warranted abuse there.  Bit gutted the replay is on Saturday as if it had been midweek I would have headed along to Firhill but will be at East End Park instead.  Although they didn't win must go down as one of the biggest shocks in Scottish Cup history.  the North Juniors are recognised as being pretty crap and their top sides usually get pumped out the Junior Cup by lower league and West and East sides and is a step below at least the top half of the Highland League (none of whom even got a draw yesterday).

Anyway here are the rest of the results, draw is on Tuesday at 1030am, wonder who will be knocking us out this year?

Scottish Cup

Airdrie Utd 11-0 Gala Fairydean

Auchinleck Talbot 3-1 Vale Of Leithen

Boness Utd 0-3 Cowdenbeath

Brechin 3-0 Dumbarton

East Fife 5-0 East Stirling

Elgin 1-1 Queen's Park

Inverurie Locos 2-4 Peterhead

Irvine Meadow 0-6 Livingston

Keith 0-1 Arbroath

Scottish Cup fourth-round draw

Airdrie United v Dundee United

Arbroath v Rangers

Cowdenbeath v Hibernian

Culter or Partick Thistle v Queen of the South

Dundee v Kilmarnock

Falkirk v East Fife

Hearts v Auchinleck Talbot

Inverness Caledonian Thistle v Dunfermline Athletic

Livingston v Ayr United or Montrose

Motherwell v Elgin City or Queen's Park

Peterhead v Celtic

Raith Rovers v Morton

Ross County v Stenhousemuir

St Mirren v Hamilton Academical

St Johnstone v Brechin City

Stranraer or Forfar Athletic v Aberdeen

Ties to be played 7/8 January

Not the most exiting of draw. Talbot at Tyncastle gives a bit of novelty value, St J v Brechin produced a couple of cracking games last season and potentially tricky games for United and Killie but otherwise fairly uninspiring.
