Guest efan_ekoku Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 JC has said he's after wingers. Probably only get one and it's likely to be a left sided one. As much as I'd like to see someone with a good left peg signed, I'd like to see Dean Shiels if he's available. Thoughts? Quote
daals heid Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 Think he signed a new deal fairly recently and is very much in John Collins plans Quote
Leerichardson40yrds Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 The guy Hammell who is on loan at Dunfermline from Liverpool. If they were willing to sell him he would be a good signing. Quote
Guest efan_ekoku Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 Think he signed a new deal fairly recently and is very much in John Collins plans Don't know where I heard it, but remember hearing that he was a backup for Collins and that he would let him leave and Shiels wanted first team football. Nominal fee maybe? Quote
Drewsome Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 Would that that story were able to be substantiated... I agree Shiels would look good in red. Quote
willie_millers-barmyarmy Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 why do we want a hibs reserve?! had a look at there league position? there team are full of over rated erratic kids...and shields still doesnt play!! Quote
TheChimp Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 I wouldn't mind seeing Shiels sign, just so I can get freebies. Quote
K-9 Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 Needed a left winger for years. Never seem to ever find one though!! Quote

Always a negative comment. Forget about his pecking order status in the Hibs team. He's behind players like Sproule, Brown, Zemmama and Fletcher who would all probably get a game for us. That's probably Hibs strongest position as far as quality in numbers goes so you've got to look at the bigger picture here. Quote
Guest Chubbs80s Posted March 16, 2007 Report Posted March 16, 2007 can we not play clark left wing??? Quote
Guest efan_ekoku Posted March 16, 2007 Report Posted March 16, 2007 can we not play clark left wing??? Jimmy seems to like having him in the middle and he likes playing there, that's why Dempsey has been stuck out there for spells this season and he has no pace which is no use Quote
topcorner Posted March 16, 2007 Report Posted March 16, 2007 I think Clark is no bad out on the wing. I wonder where he prefers playing himself? Quote

topcorner Posted March 16, 2007 Report Posted March 16, 2007 That would piss me off as a player. Not knowing where you're gonna get played or constantly getting played in a position that's not your strongest. Quote
Guest Johnny Mac Posted March 16, 2007 Report Posted March 16, 2007 But what is Clark's position? To be honest he's never struck me as much of a winger. Can't skin anyone, has no left foot (yet we always play him on the left wing), crossing is pretty poor. Shooting is generally poor too, although he scored a cracker against Falkirk. His passing is generally good. Jimmy seems to rate him though! Ever present in the league this season. Quote

Affore mentioned Clark may have to be moved to right wing back tomorrow if Hart does not shake off his injury!! Quote
Guest The Red Max Posted March 16, 2007 Report Posted March 16, 2007 The best thing Chris Clark did last Saturday was one great run up the right wing followed by a great cross which should have had a striker busting a gut to get on the end of. Playing out wide is where he is at his most effective, with him on one side and "Jinky" on the other (left or right) we don't need to waste money on another wide player. Barry Nic and Chris Mcguire can both play there too. Lets face it we rarely play it out wide anyway, preferring the long back-to-front punt up the park to Brewster or Miller. JC should look to get an central midfielder with energy & vision who can pull a defence about a bit. (A sort of Lee Richardson type player) Is there no-one in Poland that fits the bill? It could put a couple of thousand on the attendance too! Quote
Drewsome Posted March 16, 2007 Report Posted March 16, 2007 Anyone worth a look from teams like PSG who are gonna get relegated? Quote

Guest The Angus Bull Posted March 16, 2007 Report Posted March 16, 2007 Is Shiels actually a winger ? Thought he was an attacking midfielder. What about the Celtic lad O'Brien on loan at Dunfermline ? - looked good against us and has backed that up with some more good perfomances. Played on the right against us - not sure if he can play on the left too. Quote
daals heid Posted March 16, 2007 Report Posted March 16, 2007 Sheils can play anywhere across midfield and attack. Would be an excellent signing but not viable i'd imagine. Quote
