Kowalski Posted November 12, 2011 Report Posted November 12, 2011 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-15696942 Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp is to face trial accused of tax evasion relating to his time as manager of Portsmouth Football Club. Mr Redknapp and ex-Portsmouth chairman Milan Mandaric are charged with two counts of cheating the public revenue. Two payments totalling $295,000 (about £183,000) were allegedly made by Mr Mandaric, now chairman of Sheffield Wednesday, to Mr Redknapp. They are due to be tried at Southwark Crown Court on 23 January 2012. The case is expected to last two weeks. Mr Redknapp, 64, who lives in Poole, Dorset, recently underwent heart surgery to unblock coronary arteries. He and Mr Mandaric, 73, who lives in Oadby, Leicestershire, will each face two charges relating to alleged payments to a Monaco bank account opened by Mr Redknapp. Quote
BigAl Posted November 12, 2011 Report Posted November 12, 2011 Actually surprised it has taken this long. Was he not one of ther named parties in a Panorama investigation many years ago Quote
One Bobby Clark Posted November 14, 2011 Report Posted November 14, 2011 Harry just needs to take Dave Hartnett out for dinner to the same restaurant that Vodafone took him to, that'll sort it out. Quote
Kowalski Posted January 24, 2012 Author Report Posted January 24, 2012 Sounds like he's in a bit of shit judging by what has been presented in court so far. What can he get if found guilty? Quote
Jute Posted January 24, 2012 Report Posted January 24, 2012 Would think this will end the chances of him being England manager if proved. Quote
tlg1903 Posted January 24, 2012 Report Posted January 24, 2012 Sounds like he's in a bit of shit judging by what has been presented in court so far. What can he get if found guilty? Definitely Jail, up to two years rings a bell but don't take that as gospel Quote
Tyrant Posted January 25, 2012 Report Posted January 25, 2012 Not a chance he'll be sent to jail. If it was Kenny Dalglish however.... Quote

baggy89 Posted February 8, 2012 Report Posted February 8, 2012 I reckon that's why he was aquitted. Nah he was let off once it was revealed he paid more Tax than the Huns and Diet Huns combined. Quote
Tyrant Posted February 9, 2012 Report Posted February 9, 2012 'Arry will be able to give Rangers some top advice on what lawyer to go for. For a small fee obviously. Quote
Superstar Tradesman Posted February 9, 2012 Report Posted February 9, 2012 He's been let off the hook. Proved innocent. Just like his old chairman. Not guilty. Yet everyone seems to have (conveniently?) forgotten about the dog with £200k in it's bank account. That's normal is it? Quote
BobbyBiscuit Posted February 9, 2012 Report Posted February 9, 2012 From yesterday's Fiver: Ever since the investigation began five years ago into deposits made by Mandaric into a Monaco bank account owned by Redknapp, the two men have been like a pair of strikers awaiting a cross from Aaron Lennon, wondering where it would go and would anyone get hurt.
