mizer Posted November 27, 2011 Report Posted November 27, 2011 Do we have to play him in the contract with Man city? he is honking, Brown must be better. Bring back Clangfield! Quote
Penfold Posted November 27, 2011 Report Posted November 27, 2011 Brown needs to start next game. Jason or Craig, either would be an improvement. Quote
Jute Posted November 27, 2011 Report Posted November 27, 2011 Gonzalez was rotten again yesterday. Jason Brown must be piss poor if he cannot get a game in front of keeper as bad as him. Quote
Tyrant Posted November 28, 2011 Report Posted November 28, 2011 Ja Brown is piss poor. Langfield is too but he's the best option we've got. Quote

Sandaldinho Posted November 28, 2011 Report Posted November 28, 2011 Jason Brown poised to take over as Aberdeen FC’s No1 Below-par Gonzalez under pressure BACK-UP: Jason Brown may get crack at being Aberdeen FC's first-choice keeper. JASON Brown looks set to finally get a crack at showing he is good enough to become Aberdeen FC’s first-choice goalkeeper. Aberdeen FC boss Craig Brown today admitted he's considering making a change between the sticks after Colombian international David Gonzalez made costly errors in their 3-3 SPL draw with Dunfermline at East End Park. Jamie Langfield won't be available because he is poised to complete a loan move to Forfar Athletic today to gain more game time as he continues his recovery from brain surgery Quote
Tyrant Posted November 28, 2011 Report Posted November 28, 2011 Here's a mental idea.. call off Langfield's loan move and put him in goals? Quote
Penfold Posted November 28, 2011 Report Posted November 28, 2011 Would rather Brown is given a chance before Langfield. Quote
rocket_scientist Posted November 28, 2011 Report Posted November 28, 2011 Langfield in goals again? That'll bring stability. That'll guarantee success. That'll bring back the crowds. Quote
mizer Posted November 29, 2011 Author Report Posted November 29, 2011 Having watched the highlights of the game he was not as bad as I thought but still not great. Jason brown has to start against Killie. Quote
mizer Posted November 29, 2011 Author Report Posted November 29, 2011 Where's the broon option? Just for you Quote
manc_don Posted November 29, 2011 Report Posted November 29, 2011 Having watched the highlights of the game he was not as bad as I thought but still not great. Jason brown has to start against Killie. Watched the highlights at lunch, didn't think he did much wrong for the goals. More just shocking defending and attempts at "finishing" from Magennis. God knows how he actually managed to score the hardest chance Quote
Kowalski Posted November 29, 2011 Report Posted November 29, 2011 Is there a reason why Langfield is not an option on the poll, or is not fully ready yet? I'd give Brown his chance. Quote
Edinburghdon Posted November 30, 2011 Report Posted November 30, 2011 Is there a reason why Langfield is not an option on the poll, or is not fully ready yet? I'd give Brown his chance. Probably because he'll be at Forfar Quote
rocket_scientist Posted November 30, 2011 Report Posted November 30, 2011 Recalling a fumbling bumbling idiot who is already known to be shite, who's utter shiteness has been proved so often it's embarrassing, makes zero sense. If there is a Brown option, it must always be explored in its stead. Choosing Clangfield is choosing the black option, death by incompetence. Quote

Agreed, I don't see how playing Langfield solves any problems. He was nervous before his seizure, god know what he'll be like now! Quote

If there is a Brown option, it must always be explored in its stead. Choosing Clangfield is choosing the black option, death by incompetence. exactly. he's only on a 1 year deal now anyway is he not? If this loan move goes through, then there's got to be a fair chance we'll never see him play for the dons again. I hope he makes a full recovers from his seizure related illness, but in pure footballing terms, I'll be glad to see the back of him. Quote
Jute Posted November 30, 2011 Report Posted November 30, 2011 Loan for Langfield is only for 1 month. He will be back for start of January when Gonzalez departs. As poor as Langfield is he is a better keeper than Gonzalez. Quote
rocket_scientist Posted November 30, 2011 Report Posted November 30, 2011 Whether he is better or worse than Gonzalez is a separate debate. Langfield's not good enough for AFC. You pick players who can do a job. Since Langfield isn't capable of doing a half decent job, you get rid. If the next keeper isn't good enough either, you get rid. If you keep on recruiting poor keepers, save yourself the price of a good one by getting rid of Leighton and his unnecessary wage. Quote
Tyrant Posted November 30, 2011 Report Posted November 30, 2011 Agree that Langfield is pish but he's the least pish we've got unfortunately. Although I don't disagree with Brown getting a chance. Although from what I've seen of him he's hoop too. Quote
mizer Posted December 1, 2011 Author Report Posted December 1, 2011 Aberdeen manager Craig Brown insists goalkeeping legend Jim Leighton will have the final say on who will be handed the Dons number one shirt against Kilmarnock this weekend. Brown is considering his options, with Jason Brown pushing hard for inclusion after some indifferent form by regular goalkeeper David Gonazalez, who seemed culpable at times in the 3-3 draw at Dunfermline last weekend. Kowalski Posted December 1, 2011 Report Posted December 1, 2011 Buck passing of the highest order. Not to me its not, its handing the decision to the person who works with them day in day out and should know who's best. If Brown didn't trust Leighton's judgement then he wouldn't be working for him. Quote
