Goldie03 Posted September 11, 2012 Report Posted September 11, 2012 So this year will be interesting. Apparently current odds: B Wiggins 5/4 M Farah 9/4 A Murray 5/2 J Ennis 8/1 D Weir 20/1 E Simmonds 35/1 R McIlroy 100/1 C Hoy 100/1 S Storey 100/1 I'd go: Murray, Wiggins, Farah, McIlroy, Ennis, Hoy That order maybe I think I agree but take out McIlroy and probably move Hoy before Ennis Quote
maverick sheep Posted September 11, 2012 Report Posted September 11, 2012 Wiggins, Murray, Farrah, Ennis, Hoy Diddy competition anyway. Quote
CtS Posted September 11, 2012 Report Posted September 11, 2012 Given the enormity of both men's achievements, the award should be shared between Murray and Wiggins this year. Quote
Madbadteacher Posted September 11, 2012 Report Posted September 11, 2012 Craig Levein. The only man capable of uniting football supporters in Scotland after this summer's debacle! Quote

Kowalski Posted September 12, 2012 Report Posted September 12, 2012 Given the enormity of both men's achievements, the award should be shared between Murray and Wiggins this year. But Tour de France has an element of it being a team sport surely? Murray's achievement is the greater in my opinion. Farah and Weir's achievements are also brilliant. Quote
bloo_toon_red Posted September 12, 2012 Report Posted September 12, 2012 But Tour de France has an element of it being a team sport surely? Murray's achievement is the greater in my opinion. Farah and Weir's achievements are also brilliant. I don't think the team aspect is strong enough to take away the individual achievement, the TdF is among the most gruelling sporting events around and no UK sportsman has ever won it. Wiggins also won the Olympic Road Race on top of all the other championships and medals he has won over the years. I would love Murray to win it (and I think that he will) but at this moment in time my vote would go for Wiggins. That might change if Murray goes on to with the World Tour Finals in November. Quote

Tyrant Posted September 19, 2012 Report Posted September 19, 2012 Wiggins's achievement is amazing but I hope Murray wins it. I just can't see it happening because a lot of the guffy knobs dislike him. He deserves it. He's a fucking hero. Quote
Kowalski Posted November 26, 2012 Report Posted November 26, 2012 I don't suppose there were any real surprises in the short list. The bookies seem to be going with Wiggo as favourite, then Farah, Murray, Ennis and Weir. Personally hoping for Farah, Murray or Weir. Quote
TENEMENTFUNSTER Posted November 26, 2012 Report Posted November 26, 2012 Could be any of them but Wiggins does seem to be where the smart money is going. Quote
maverick sheep Posted November 26, 2012 Report Posted November 26, 2012 Might have a flutter on Ennis. Quote
Kowalski Posted December 16, 2012 Report Posted December 16, 2012 Wiggins seems to have it in the bag according to all the bookies. Think I'll vote for Murray! Quote
CtS Posted December 16, 2012 Report Posted December 16, 2012 I'll be amazed if Murray gets in the top 3, even if I do think he deserves it. I predict Wiggins, Farrah, Ennis in that order. Quote
Kowalski Posted December 16, 2012 Report Posted December 16, 2012 Are you suggesting somebody could win it posthumously? Quote
Madbadteacher Posted December 16, 2012 Report Posted December 16, 2012 If it goes to a popular phone vote (?) then ot'll be the candidate thatappeals most to the iphone generation of 13-25 year olds....I'd guess Ennis Quote
