Jute Posted February 15, 2012 Report Posted February 15, 2012 SFA just confirmed friendly in US. Doubt I will be able to afford this one. Dear SSC Members, At last, we are delighted to announce an away match against the USAat the end of the season on 26 May 2012. The match will take place at the home of the NFL team the Jacksonville Jaguars, in Florida. Craig Levein said: “Following the match against Slovenia in February, this will provide another opportunity to get the group together ahead of the World Cup 2014 Qualifiers in September. We will have an extended period together in May, with a training camp in the USA prior to the match on the 26th, which is very important as we prepare for the qualifiers. We’re all looking forward to this match, which gives us a chance to test ourselves against a nation that is emerging as one of the top sides in world football.” The teams last met on U.S. soil ahead of the 1998 FIFA World Cup, drawing 0-0 on May 30, 1998, in Washington, D.C. Full details are below… International Challenge Match USA v Scotland EverBank Field, Jacksonville, Florida Saturday 26 May 2012 Kick off 8:00pm ET Although this is a large stadium, we’ve been asked by the US Soccer Federation to give them an idea of how many of you want to travel to this match. So, we’ll be in touch over the next couple of days with a poll asking if you’re intending to go to the States. Many Thanks Scotland Supporters Club Quote

dave_min Posted February 15, 2012 Report Posted February 15, 2012 Florida in June? Pretty sure the 26th May isn't in June. I'm 50/50 about going. If I do i'll prob go to the States for a few weeks, but I doubt I can be arsed. I'll probably buy a ticket regardless though Quote
Madbadteacher Posted February 15, 2012 Report Posted February 15, 2012 Sorry, someone said June and I didna read properly. Of course May will be much less warm, humid and inhospitable Quote

Tyrant Posted February 16, 2012 Report Posted February 16, 2012 I would have went if the game fell in one of the 3 weeks that I'll be there this year. But it doesn't so sack the fucking board. Although the game against the USA at Hampden a few years back made me want to kill myself right enough. Quote
Jute Posted February 16, 2012 Author Report Posted February 16, 2012 Looking at prices I doubt I will be attending this. Looking at about £600 for flight and accomodation just for a 3 night trip. Quote
Stewart Posted February 17, 2012 Report Posted February 17, 2012 Just to update y'all. I can't make it. Part timer. I can't afford it, so I'm out. Quote
dave_min Posted February 17, 2012 Report Posted February 17, 2012 Part timer. I can't afford it, so I'm out. Aye - I mind you saying that in Cyprus.... (or was it Sweden?) The earliest I can get to Jacksonville is 6pm the day of the game. Can't be arsed going that far to (maybe) miss the game. Quote
Harcus Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 I don't think this will be much consolation to those not going to USA-Scotland. Quote

Jute Posted May 15, 2012 Author Report Posted May 15, 2012 Pretty decent squad. Only glaring omission is McCormack. Assume he has joined Boyd McFadden and Fletcher on the naughty list until Avril is replaced in November. Quote
Jute Posted May 26, 2012 Author Report Posted May 26, 2012 Anyone else staying up to watch this? Quote
