"There's no mystery but there is a delay in getting clearance from the specialist," said Brown. "The broken leg was repaired ok, but now it is a blood problem.

"I don't want to breach medical confidentiality. We hope he will play again for us.

"He's working every day but when he gets to a certain level of lung pressure, he has to stop running."

Brown added that Folly, who is out of contract in the summer, has been getting the best possible help to try and nurse him back to full fitness.

"He has been getting thorough and constant checks from the best consultant in medicine to do with that complaint," added the manager.

"It's not right for me to talk about a personal complaint. It's enough to keep him out of the squad anyway."

Not looking good for him.

Shame as thought he looked the part up until the leg break.

Tough decision on the contract front come the summer, as financially we can't afford to carry passengers.

Aberdeen FC’s Yoann Folly tells of horror illness

‘I could have had a heart attack’

ABERDEEN FC midfielder Yoann Folly today told how he could have had a heart attack after pushing his body to the limits – without knowing he was suffering from a life-threatening condition.

Folly, 26, found himself struggling to breathe but trained even harder in a bid to boost his fitness.

It was only when Aberdeen FC physio John Sharp realised there was something wrong that Folly was sent for a scan and was told he was suffering from a pulmonary embolism, a blood clot in the lungs which could lead to a heart attack.

Feel sorry for the lad, I genuinely thought he looked like a half decent player (well at least by our standards) prior to him picking up the bad injury.

Wish him all the best for whatever the future holds for him
