Despite a run of seven games unbeaten, the Dons’ top-six bid has faded because only four goals have been struck in that spell. Top scorer Scott Vernon has weighed in with 11 goals but next best is defender Andrew Considine with three in the SPL. Brown is desperate to end the drought but has kept Josh Magennis, Rory Fallon and Mohamed Chalali, who are all out of contract this summer, on the bench. Instead the manager has used Iceland defender Kari Arnason in an advanced attacking role to get among the goals. The manager said: “The strikers need to get their finger out. They don’t need to be the brain of Britain to know they must produce. “Some of them might have a grievance in that they only got on for 20 minutes but I must make value judgments. “I have used a number of combinations with Vernon this season but still don’t have a settled partnership. “Mackie, Fallon, Magennis, Chalali and even Arnason have been tried up front. “I have left Vernon in because he is the established goalscorer but whoever plays needs better passes from wide areas and midfield to create chances as we are not scoring enough.” But Brown swears the top six can still be achieved. He added: “We need a couple of back-to-back wins to get into real contention and I suspect they will come at the most unlikely time. “Maybe it will be next week at home to Celtic and then at Motherwell. “We’ve drawn the last two league games which frustrates me. We would have been better winning one and losing one but psychologically we have kept our run going. “We need two wins at least as Dundee United and Kilmarnock are also up there challenging for the top half.” Quote

How Vernon is on 11 goals with a team that creates about average 2 chances a game is amazing. We need width to create chances and that is all browns fault for having an inbalanced team that is not good to watch. Sorry rant over Quote

I still don't know why Brown dropped him after he appeared to be getting a decent run in the team in December and got a couple of goals. He needs to play. Quote
