ABERDEEN FC boss Craig Brown today admitted he has stepped up his interest in Falkirk striker Farid El Alagui.

Moroccan El Alagui is set to quit the Bairns when his one-year deal expires in the summer.

The 27-year-old has netted 27 goals in all competitions and Brown has spoken to Falkirk’s general manager, former Aberdeen FC boss Alex Smith, as he ponders whether to make a summer move for the prolific striker.

Is this the same Craig Brown who said at the Edinburgh roadshow that he was no better than what we had and that there were NO players in the lower leagues that could improve afc  ::)

Obviously somebody wrote into him  But In saying that I'm sure El Alagui was specifically mentioned by the crowd.

TBF be fair to Broon if he'd talked El Alagui up then one of our old signing thieves would have him on a pre contract by now. Either Plymouth or Dundee United.

He'll probably sign for Dundee United to be closer to his family in northern Africa.
