Yip, Reynolds, Anderson, Der Kaiser, Robertson, Shagnasty, Naysmith and yes, I'll say it, Clangers, are proving a better than decent squad of defenders.

Having a defence that is capable of clearing most crosses has taken a lot of pressure of langfield

Jamie Murphy and Nicky law out of contract with Motherwell at the end of the season.

Murphy has been linked with a move South and (along with every other out of contract player in Scotland) THE Huns so suspect he will be out of our price range. Law will probably get a move to some English 4th division club on 3 times the wages we can offer.

i know Webster is out in the summer, but depending on whether Hearts would be looking for a fee I would go with him.

I'm not sure if Shagnasty is enough (should he get injured).  Ando looks like he could do with a bit of a rest too.

More of a RB, but think Robbie Neilson can play CB. might be worth a deal until the summer. Last I heard he was going to sign for Falkirk but got a triple cheekbone fracture in Oct. Article said 6 weeks out.

Can't remember much of him, but Sean O'Hanlon's still out of contract after leaving hibs I think.

Someone on P&B claiming we're going to sign Barry Robson but can't see any evidence for this claim, nor any reason why we would want to.

Would love to get him. Maybe a bit passed it now but that's never usually put us off of folk.

He plays MLS now so maybe a loan, I'd have him in a second actually given the only player we have that can pick a pass is hughes and he has missed more games than he has played

I see elsewhere Brown has apparently been quoted in saying that J Brown will be fighting for his place between the sticks. So he's not looking for a new gk...i really hope he's signing someone on a pre contract agreement at least.

Apparently "all over twitter", I haven't see anything myself (probably because I don't use twitter) that we are trying to get in Paddy McCourt on a pre-contract. People worried about his injury issues but personally I'd take him in a heartbeat if true, could see him making a McGinn style impact and I think potentially one of out best partnerships up front if we keep a hold of McGinn
