2012-2013 Goal Scorer thread

Aberdeen's new signing Calvin Zola is aiming to hit the 20-goal mark for the Dons this season.

Last season Niall McGinn became the first Don to score 20 goals in a season since Billy Dodds in 1997.

However, former Burton Albion forward Zola, who signed a two-year contract with the Dons, believes, with creative midfielders such as Jonny Hayes, Gregg Wylde and Barry Robson supplying the ammunition, he will have plenty of opportunities to emulate the Northern Ireland international's goalscoring prowess.

Feel as if McGinn, Zola and Vernon could all get into double figures in the league, with Hayes, Robson, Flood all chipping in. If we add goals to last years perfomances then should be a good season ahead (ahhh, love pre season optimism)

Good to see Vernon getting back on track as he has had a woeful past year or so, although undoubtedly not helped by Craig Brown's insistance of playing him in a midfield role.

Heres hoping all the doom, gloom and suggestions that Vernon was a spent force will prove to be premature.
