Jute Posted July 9, 2013 Report Posted July 9, 2013 Dons started preseason programme tonight. First team won 3-0 at Buckie while U20s won 6-3 at Turriff. Quote
glasgow sheep Posted July 10, 2013 Report Posted July 10, 2013 Nae quite so good for some other teams: Aberdeen began their pre-season friendlies with a 3-0 triumph away to Highland League Buckie Thistle on Tuesday night. There were also comfortable away wins for Ross County, who defeated Clachnacuddin 5-0, and Inverness CT, who saw off Forres 3-0 thanks to a Billy McKay hat-trick. However, Celtic went down 6-2 to Greuther Furth in Germany and Hearts were beaten 5-1 by Dinamo Bucharest. Promoted Partick Thistle enjoyed a 5-1 win at Annan. Quote
Jute Posted July 10, 2013 Author Report Posted July 10, 2013 Slightly off topic. I am surprised that Caley have managed to hang on to McKay. Would have thought there would have been clubs sniffing around him given his goal scoring record last season. Quote

manc_don Posted July 12, 2013 Report Posted July 12, 2013 Looked like they were decent enough finishes despite being a friendly. Quote
Penfold Posted July 12, 2013 Report Posted July 12, 2013 Thought the young guy Murray played really well at right back on Tuesday. Linked well with Hayes and Jack on that side and got forward a lot. Put in some good crosses. And then he's not even in the squad for tomorrow. Neither is Zola, take it he's injured? Quote

Zola had a hamstring injury. Supposed to fit for games in Ireland. Quote
Jute Posted July 13, 2013 Author Report Posted July 13, 2013 First team win 4-1 today at Huntly while U20s win 2-0 against Clach. Quote

glasgow sheep Posted July 16, 2013 Report Posted July 16, 2013 UCD 0-4 Aberdeen ( Magennis 5, Hayes 33, McGinn 46, Pawlett 87 mins) Arbroath 3 Aberdeen U20s 3 (O'Neill pen 17, Shankland 21, 43 mins) Quote
glasgow sheep Posted July 16, 2013 Report Posted July 16, 2013 Just found out who the Malahide United mob are that we play on Thursday. Seems they play in the Third tier in Ireland, the Leinster Senior League which has no automatic promotion to the main league system. They finished last season 9th out of 14. Surely shooty in Quote

Interested to hear the views of anyone that has actually seen him play ? Quote
glasgow sheep Posted July 16, 2013 Report Posted July 16, 2013 I pity the defences in the u20 league this season with McManus, Shankland and Smith going at them Quote
