Kowalski Posted July 24, 2013 Report Posted July 24, 2013 "A mountain of work has been done over the summer to get to this point" said SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster. Surely it took all of 5 minutes by the looks of things! Quote
tlg1903 Posted July 24, 2013 Report Posted July 24, 2013 Unbelievable, I fucking loath the word premiership..... it's just so fucking wanky Quote
Kowalski Posted July 24, 2013 Report Posted July 24, 2013 I must have missed the fans' consultation on this one. Quote
glasgow sheep Posted July 24, 2013 Report Posted July 24, 2013 Premiership is bad, the Championship for the 2nd Tier is fucking SHITE Apart from the fact it was lazy why the fuck are they continuely trying to model themselves on the English game? Andrew Posted July 24, 2013 Report Posted July 24, 2013 I wonder where they got the idea for the lion.... This whole thing is a fucking embarrassment. It's just going to increase the stupid and unfair comparison between the Scottish and English games as well. Quote

Edinburghdon Posted July 24, 2013 Report Posted July 24, 2013 Who gives a fuck what it's called? The important thing is they've made some important changes that people have been asking to be made for years, like having 1 body running the leagues. Sure the changes made aren't exactly what the fans want but its a big step in the right direction. Some people really will moan about anything... Quote
stubo72 Posted July 24, 2013 Report Posted July 24, 2013 I'd imagine some marketing report gave some credit to the name changes for increasing crowds, or sponsorship, or something in the lower leagues darn sarf? New name, same shite (unfortunately). Quote

maverick sheep Posted July 24, 2013 Report Posted July 24, 2013 Apart from one body running the whole thing there is fuck all that people wanted in place now. And even that has come with the same cancerous scumbags at the helm as before. Pish. Quote

mizer Posted September 23, 2013 Report Posted September 23, 2013 Scottish FA chief executive Stewart Regan insists the absence of a sponsor for the professional leagues is not an embarrassment. The newly-created Scottish Professional Football League has yet to agree sponsorship. Clydesdale Bank's sponsorship of the top-flight ended in the summer. Speaking as the Lowland League agreed a sponsorship deal at Hampden, Regan said they were "working hard" to resolve the problem. "It's not embarrassing at all," said the SFA's chief executive. "It's about finding the right sponsor and that's a matter for the SPFL. "And it's a question to talk to [sPFL chief executive] Neil Doncaster about. "But there has to be a recognition of the climate we're working within and also the process that we've gone through to try to put league reconstruction in place. "The season's under way and now it's about finding the right partner to work with." Quote
mizer Posted October 3, 2013 Report Posted October 3, 2013 Cockwomble eventually finds a sponsor: IRN-BRU and the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) have agreed the biggest signing of the summer as the nation's favourite soft drink is today (Thursday 3 October) announced as the Official Soft Drink of the SPFL. The agreement between A.G. Barr and the SPFL means that IRN-BRU's long-standing association with the national game will continue, having already enjoyed six phenomenal years as title sponsor of the Scottish Football League. Adrian Troy, Head of Marketing at A.G. Barr, said: "IRN-BRU is very much part of the fabric of Scottish football and we're proud that our deal with the SPFL lets us extend our support to the clubs across all four divisions. "We have a great relationship with football fans in Scotland, so we're looking forward to working with the SPFL to support the clubs and their communities throughout the length and breadth of the country. We're excited to share the big matchday experience with every football fan in the country, no matter who they support." Quote
Jute Posted October 3, 2013 Report Posted October 3, 2013 Were they not the SFL sponsors before the merger? Quote

mizer Posted October 3, 2013 Report Posted October 3, 2013 At closer inspection it is not a main sponsor as I though just the official soft drink Quote
Tyrant Posted October 3, 2013 Report Posted October 3, 2013 Will this mean that fans will be able to buy Irn Bru at games? And will it be as watered down as the other drinks? Quote
maverick sheep Posted October 3, 2013 Report Posted October 3, 2013 Since when was October part of Summer? Quote
