Man dies after Aberdeen city centre incident

Police are investigating the death of a man following an incident in Aberdeen city centre.

The man was found near the Galleria, at the junction of Bon Accord Street and Langstane Place, at about 00:10 on Friday.

Police have said his death is being treated as "unexplained".

The area where the man was discovered has been cordoned off. Police have appealed for anyone with information about the incident to contact them.

'Captured the incident' Ch Insp Richard Craig said: "We are aware that this area would have been busy at the time with a number of people in the area.

"We are appealing for anyone who may have seen the incident to come forward. We are also aware that people may have captured the incident or the aftermath of it on their mobile phones and we would urgently appeal for them to come forward as soon as possible.

"An inquiry team has been set up involving divisional and specialist resources to establish the full circumstances surrounding the death.

"We would like to thank the community for being patient while police carry out enquiries in the area."

 

Allegations that one of the bouncers strangled the deceased in a choke hold as he threw him out.

bouncers are just thugs dressed in a shirt. one reason to stay clear of night clubs, if this gets proved, then the pub/club that employed the man should be shut down instantly.

 

Time this country got rid of these venues. whats wrong going to a local normal pub for a meal and a quiet drink..

Few years back the pub in the galleria told its doorman he was not allowed to use his radio to call an ambulance for a girl who had collapsed in the street outside because it would need to be reported as an incident on their premises. He was also not allowed to help because they were paying him to guard the door

 

End result was muggins here had to keep the girl alive at the same time as balancing the mobile on my shoulder trying to convince the switchboard that blood leaking from head requires more than a plaster.

Clearly that is not right. However in the case of a bouncer stepping over the mark against company policy then the pub/club should not be held liable imo.

What if they failed to do background checks on him and he was a known psycho? Of course they are responsible for every one of their employees actions whilst at work.

Absolutely.  I'm sure there will be contracts in place relating to the vetting of their bouncers.

THREE men will appear in court today charged in connection with the death of a young father outside a bar in Aberdeen.

 

A police spokesman confirmed last night that the men, all believed to be doormen in the city, had been charged following their arrests on Friday. But both the police and the Crown Office refused to give any details about the charges.

 

Craig Grant, 26, died after an incident outside Tonik, in the Galleria shopping centre shortly after midnight on Thursday.
