mizer Posted August 28, 2013 Report Posted August 28, 2013 ABERDEEN FC today confirmed winger Jonny Hayes has been released from hospital after being detained overnight. Hayes suffered a head injury during Aberdeen FC's dramatic League Cup win over Alloa Athletic at Pittodrie. The Irishman was stretchered off following an accidental clash of heads with Alloa defender Daryll Maggot. The match was delayed for five minutes to allow the Aberdeen FC medical team to treat Hayes, who was wearing a neck brace when he was carried off. Aberdeen FC confirmed he was detained in hospital overnight as a precaution. The club has still to confirm how long Hayes will be out but he won’t be fit to feature in Saturday's home Premiership clash with St Johnstone. The Dons will also be withouth influential midfielder Willo Flood. He suffered a hamstring injury during the Alloa cup-tie and was set to have scans to discover the full extent of the damage done. Aberdeen FC striker Josh Magennis may also miss out because of the shoulder injury that kept him out of the cup match, which the Dons won 6-5 on penalties after the game ended 0-0 after extra-time. manc_don Posted August 28, 2013 Report Posted August 28, 2013 Glad he's been released from hospital but that doesn't sound good at all. Hope he makes a speedy recovery! Quote
