BigAl Posted August 29, 2013 Report Posted August 29, 2013 Pretty well as tough a draw as was possible, with the exception of being away to Partick or potentially Hamilton Quote
mizer Posted August 29, 2013 Author Report Posted August 29, 2013 Pretty well as tough a draw as was possible, with the exception of being away to Partick or potentially Hamilton Indeed, still unbeaten so far this season. 1-1 draw with Dunfermline 3-0 against Livi 2-1 against Ayr in the last round 3-1 against Morton 1-1 draw with Dumbarton 3-0 win over Clyde in the 1st round 2-1 win over Clyde in the Challenge cup Quote
Jute Posted August 29, 2013 Report Posted August 29, 2013 Can make this one so for the selfish reason I am happy with the draw but as Al says only Dundee or Partick away could have been harder. Quote
glasgow sheep Posted August 29, 2013 Report Posted August 29, 2013 The last three times Aberdeen have made the League Cup final (92, 95, 2000) they've defeated Falkirk on the way. Quote
BigAl Posted August 29, 2013 Report Posted August 29, 2013 We'll pump them. The drugs are working then Quote

mizer Posted September 24, 2013 Author Report Posted September 24, 2013 FALKIRK striker Rory Loy believes his side can pass Aberdeen FC off the park in the League Cup. The Bairns entertain the Dons in the wake of a 3-1 win over Championship favourites Dundee. Loy, who scored twice in that match, believes they can also shock Derek McInnes’s men. Loy said: “They will come to our place and try to pass the ball, which really suits us. “Not many teams in the Scottish game pass the ball as well as we do. That’s not me having a go at Aberdeen, it’s the truth. The team that plays best on the night wins and we feel we have a really good chance.” Despite his double against Dundee, Loy is determined to put on a better show against the Dons. He said: “It wasn’t one of my better performances. “It’s always great to score but my touch was poor. “I can do better.” The Bairns will be without star midfielder Ollie Durojaiye, who missed the Dundee game because of a broken bone in one of his feet. mizer Posted September 25, 2013 Author Report Posted September 25, 2013 ABERDEEN FC will give late fitness tests to Niall McGinn and Barry Robson ahead of tonight’s League Cup tie with Falkirk. The duo both missed out on featuring in the Dons’ 1-0 league win over Premiership leaders Inverness Caley Thistle. Hitman McGinn picked up an injury while on international duty with Northern Ireland a fortnight ago. The former Celtic player was rested last week and underwent two scans on his ankle, which had severe bruising. Robson has been sidelined since the second game of the season. The Scotland international, 34, underwent minor surgery on a knee injury last month. The Dons will also be without Russell Anderson, Willo Flood and Chris Clark. Skipper Anderson will have a light cast put on his fractured hand tomorrow, which could give him a chance of returning at St Mirren on Monday. The Bairns will be without midfielder Ollie Durojaiye, who faces a lengthy lay-off because of a broken bone in one of his feet. The 20-year-old, who joined them in the summer from Norwich City, has been one of their star performers. Falkirk currently sit in third spot in the Scottish Championship, following their 3-1 win over Dundee at the weekend. Quote
glasgow sheep Posted September 25, 2013 Report Posted September 25, 2013 Don't see much point in risking either, certainly not to start Same starting XI as last two games will do fine with McGinn on the bench Wouldn't risk Robson's knee on the artifical pitch, save him for Monday Quote
