Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes has been named the Scottish Premiership's Manager of the Month for September.

The Dons boss saw his side remain unbeaten in four matches throughout the month, including progressing to the quarter-finals of the League Cup.

September started with a 3-0 away win against Partick Thistle before a win over then league leaders Inverness CT at Pittodrie.

Aberdeen beat Falkirk 5-0 to make it to the last eight of the League Cup.

McInnes then saw Peter Pawlett secure a late point away to St Mirren.

The Granite City side sit fourth in the Scottish Premiership table with 14 points from their opening nine matches.

Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes is a possible candidate to replace Steve Clarke at West Brom. (scotsman)

More chance of Zola finishing the season as top SPL scorer.

Cheap journalism in that  classic ex player in management equals candidate.

McInnes needs to win silverware at Aberdeen before heading south again.

I'd also like to think that he believes the same.  Clearly building something here and hopefully he'd want to see it through.

Can't see him being a realistic target for wba at the moment, his stock is not even close to being high enough for an epl job.  When DM leaves us though I will be very surprised it's because he has been sacked
