TWO Aberdeen FC fans were believed to have been arrested in connection with vandalism offences at Celtic Park.

The supporters were understood to be among three people arrested at the Dons’ match against Celtic on Saturday.

Police Scotland have launched an investigation into vandalism during the game, where seats were damaged.

A spokeswoman for the force’s Glasgow division said: “There were three arrests at the Aberdeen versus Celtic game on Saturday.

“There was an incident where seats were damaged and we will be working with the clubs to establish the circumstances, as well as conducting our own inquiry.”

It is understood that the away toilets at Parkhead were also damaged during the match, leaving several roof tiles smashed.

A spokesman for Aberdeen Football Club said: “We are keen to find out the circumstances of the arrests.”

They added that action may be taken against the fans by the club.

Around 2,000 Dons fans travelled to Glasgow for the match, which Aberdeen FC lost 3-1.
