Kowalski Posted December 11, 2007 Report Posted December 11, 2007 Hearts Res. 1 Aberdeen Res. 2 First half goals from Sone Aluko and Michael Paton gave the young Dons an excellent win over Hearts at Forthbank. Aberdeen went in front after 16 minutes when an excellent clearance from Andy Considine found Aluko who beat two defenders before finishing clinically. Three minutes before the break a Jon Smith effort rebounded to Michael Paton who made no mistake. Hearts pulled one back in 73 minutes when Finnish striker Jual Makela scored from close range. Aberdeen - Kelly, Crawford, D. Smith, McVitie, Skinner (S. Smith 13), Considine, Jon Smith, Kurrant (Lamberty 46), Paton, Maguire, Aluko. Subs - Bateman, Ross, Carroll. Quote
vanderark14 Posted December 11, 2007 Report Posted December 11, 2007 good to see Aluko on the scoresheet. give him a go upfront with Miller on saturday Quote
BigAl Posted December 11, 2007 Report Posted December 11, 2007 Always nice to beat the mini huns Kurrant taken aff again at half time. Second game in a row unless I'm mistaken Quote

Ajja Posted December 11, 2007 Report Posted December 11, 2007 You just know that Lovell is going to get the call don't you ? Quote
vanderark14 Posted December 11, 2007 Report Posted December 11, 2007 You just know that Lovell is going to get the call don't you ? ha ha. i just said the exact same thing to my boss. Quote
K-9 Posted December 11, 2007 Report Posted December 11, 2007 Great result against experienced Hearts side (albeit highly paid duds). Hopefully given the manager food for thought for up and coming matches if our injury crisis is to be believed. Quote
LondonScottish Posted December 11, 2007 Report Posted December 11, 2007 You just know that Lovell is going to get the call don't you ? Don't know now. Would love Aluko and Miller to get a partnership worked out up front, with Lovell as a possible sub. He might as well not play Aluko if he's going to stick him in midfield like a fish out of water. Or if he does go with Lovell and Miller at least he can take Lovell off second half and utilise Aluko's pace on the tiring defenders. Quote
Superstar Tradesman Posted December 11, 2007 Report Posted December 11, 2007 Sorry, I just can't get a hard-on for a loan signing striking up a partnership as I'll just end up deflated when we can't afford to sign him. Quote

But it might be useful if he stays til season end. Worry about the consequences later if the two them knock in enough goals this term. It might just get us to a better place. Which striking partnership would get you a hard-on then?? Quote
Superstar Tradesman Posted December 11, 2007 Report Posted December 11, 2007 There is that of course. You seem to be championing him pretty hard and hell bent that he's magic. Have you seen the lad play down south or something? Quote

Have you seen the lad play down south or something? don't forget Aluko is going to get his big move as soon as he leaves Aberdeen, as he's a future Engurlund international. He's gonna be a superstar baby! ... according to LondonS Quote
TENEMENTFUNSTER Posted December 11, 2007 Report Posted December 11, 2007 He's gonna be a superstar baby! ... according to LondonS Aye, he's taking over from George Dawes on Shooting Stars. He's gonna be a "big brahn baybee" according to an exclusive report by BNP-Chat's showbiz reporter. Quote

He's gonna be a superstar baby! He's still a kid, but hasn't yet had the chance to shine yet in his correct position. Once he bulks up, and has a platform to showcase his talents properly, his career will go from strength to strength, whether its with Birmingham, who would rather keep him, or another club. Good luck to the lad. Quote
K-9 Posted December 11, 2007 Report Posted December 11, 2007 Far far too young at moment and not even close to Premiership standard, if he ever will be. Can see us picking him up for nothing at end of season, if we want him. Quote

Keep talking K-9 ....maybe its a ploy by JC to keep him in midfield so he looks shit, we get him for fuck all, and then he gets unleashed as one half of the Aluko/Miller show up front next term. Can see us picking him up for nothing at end of season, if we want him. Seems about right but Birmingham seem very keen on him, well, Bruce was. Whether that's a bargaining position fuck knows but so far of what I've seen he's a very skillful and talented wee player but with very little discipline in a system (my tin hat is on ) and as has been said, no quite strong enough to compete well in a "Big Laddies Game". Watched him in the Celtic Res game and he showed a lot of lovely touches but didn't really do anything to really hurt the tims. Quote
Millers Tache Posted December 11, 2007 Report Posted December 11, 2007 I could see McLeish recalling him when his loan ends in January, for little reason other than to have a look at him and see what he's like compared to the rest of his squad. Hope he doesn't go, but i just don't think Sone's going to be hanging round here too long. Quote

Not going to feature anywhere near the Birmingham side the rest of this season so would think best for McLeish to leave him up here and see how he gets on playing in the SPL rather than playing in reserves/3rd team down Brum. Pretty much, especially as it was announced yesterday that McLeish is getting a fair amount to spend in January - which, incidentally, is likely go on players he has worked with before. So would imagine he'd let him stay with us until the end of the season. Quote
