rocket_scientist
Crazy really but I guess having a £400 a day cocaine habit is going to have some impact on you Exactly what most of us are thinking. I don't care how many years she's been clean. Her habit almost cost her her life previously. It almost certainly contributed to it now. Sad girl. Never found happiness I would guess. A bird trapped in a cage. Her spirit was sound. Her upbringing strangled it.
TheDeeDon
Not a celeb really, but the comedy writer Alan Simpson, of the Galton and Simpson writing team behind Hancock and Steptoe, amongst other stuff, died today aged 87. I am a big fan of their work and thought he deserved a mention. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-36249956

rocket_scientist
Nae really a celebrity but the pioneer of the modern motor trade Sir Arnold Clark peacefully aged 89. Met the man in the late 1980s, came across a very down to earth man who remembered his roots The man was utterly insane in my opinion. His wife was officially a starter motor short of ignition and he had her locked up, their son died of sexual asphyxiation but he was a sad old man, married to the pursuit of the dollar and a creature strangled by routine and devoid of any fresh thinking. rocket_scientist
Sell you a dodgy motor Rocket No, never bought from them. I did some recruitment for him back in the day and got to know his joint MD very well, a good guy who retired 20 years ago and lives/lived close to your neck of the woods actually, in Stewarton. Tyrant
Changed cars last year and dealt with the Arnold Clark dealership in Lang Stracht for the first time. An utter shower of rip of cunts. They're nae affectionately known as "Arnold Shark" for nothing! I've had the same experiences when dealing with my partner's car. When she bought her car it came with 2 years free MOTs so a year later we booked it in and low and behold this "free" MOT had turned up about £300 worth of supposedly required repairs. I know some basics about cars. I'm not an expert or anything but I'm not a complete mug either so I told them not to do the work and I took the car for a £45 MOT at Granite City Motors at Muggiemoss and it passed with the cost of an hour's labour (to strip and clean the rear brakes as opposed to the lengthy list of parts that Arnold Clark wanted to replace). When they phoned a year later asking when we wanted to come in for our next MOT they were telt where to go. I worked for John Clark for a while and working with salesmen was easily worse than dealing with some of the oil wankers and civil servant arseholes that I've dealt with since. 99 out of a 100 of the cunts are corrupt and mentally ill. The specific reason why they're sick in the head is they spend every minute of every day trying to rip money out of the pockets of the public. A by-product of John Clark's mental illness manifested/manifests itself in an extraordinary case of OCD. Does anyone still deal with car dealers any more? Certainly never for new cars. A by-product of John Clark's mental illness manifested/manifests itself in an extraordinary case of OCD. Does anyone still deal with car dealers any more? Certainly never for new cars. I did for my last car but I used www.carwow.com which meant there was no salesman actively trying to sell to me and that a deal was agreed before we ever met face to face. All the salesman did was the handover when I went to collect. Would definitely use carwow.com again. I got offered a few good prices on there (although not locally unfortunately) and I went to Lawrence of Kemnay and asked them to price match (as they're my closest dealer) but they boy, for whatever reason refused so I then arranged to go to Glasgow. The next day LoK emailed me and offered me a shite excuse and an even worse discount at which point I told them that I can't take their offer seriously if they weren't going to take me seriously. I actually found that a lot whilst looking at cars. Because I look in my 20s they all assumed I couldn't afford a new car and I'd be treated as a time waster. I find dealing with car sales/dealerships on any level fucking nauseating.
rocket_scientist
I meant does anyone negotiate with dealers any more. I went to Bolton to pick up a new car last September. The internet is a wonderful thing. I offered the same deal locally but they couldn't get within a grand. For a couple of hundred quid fine but I'm not pissing away that much. Don't know if it's true because I've never actually bought from an Aberdeen dealer ever but with the amount of money in the city, I get the impression they have been used to getting maximum premium margins. The NE public have been paying over the odds for years.
