mizer Posted February 16, 2008 Report Posted February 16, 2008 We all missed a sitter Steve Fossett, the multimillionaire adventurer, has been declared legally dead five months after his disappearance while flying over the Nevada desert. His wife, Peggy, had filed her petition in a court in Chicago to allow the process of executing Mr Fossett's will to begin. "It was very sad," said Michael LoVallo, Mrs Fossett's attorney. "At first she hoped and sort of envisioned him walking down the road the next day with another story to tell. "But as the days went on, she realized it wasn't going to happen as it had on other occasions when he'd had close calls." After hearing testimony from Mrs Fossett, a family friend and a search-and-rescue expert, Judge Jeffrey Malak of the Cook County circuit court yesterday found there were "more than sufficient" evidence that Mr Fosset was dead.
