Dan McCafferty ffs

Lead singer of great Scottish band Nazareth

Famous for his gravelly voice.

Holds great memories of listening to Nazareth as a thirteen year old with my first serious girlfriend and as he sung back in the day,  Love Hurts

Halcyon days indeed

RIP Dan

^^Did a great rendition of this flight tonight by Joni Mitchell.

Also Leslie Phillips today of Carry on fame.A ripe old 98 y/o

Fantastic cover version.

Let's not forget Arthur Fowler from  Eastenders.

On a non celebrity basis I am in bits to learn today ov the death of an ex colleague of mine at a ridiculous age of only 43.

I have been to four funerals in the past six weeks.

I am struggling to live with this. It is getting out of hand.

I'm at an age now where some family and friends are getting into their 70's and 80's. I hate to think about what the future will bring. Sorry for your losses, Al.

Thanks min, you're right we're at an age where deaths of those close to us and those we know is becoming more and more common.

Against that I've got a new great nephew, so the circle of life keeps on turning.

It's been a shit run to be honest and I was feeling really down about things the other night.

Dug  out my vinyl copy of Loud N Proud just now and giving it a listen.

Started with side two and This Flight Tonight

Joni Mitchell apparently loved the Nazareth version and allegedly whilst on stage in London a couple of years introduced the track by saying she'd like to play a Nazareth track.

Keith Levene of PIL dead at 65

Was never really a fan of PIL, but Levene was a founder member of The Clash, although he left before they made their break through.

Certainly seems to have heavily influenced a number of artists

Can't believe I missed the passing of Kirstie Alley

Sure as hell wouldn't have missed her thirty years ago given half the chance 😉

They have been showing re-runs Cheers on the tv here. It's really cringey when you see how sexist It can come over. Sam would be in prison now with the way he acts. 😄

FFS Terry Hall of The Specials and Fun Boy Three.

Only 63 😵

Fucking rubbish news. Great singer from a great band. As you say, 63 is no age. Lucky to have seen The Specials a couple of times.

Maxi Jazz of Faithless, aged 65.

😔

Truly gutted about this one. An absolute beast of the electronic scene. Saw faithless a couple of times and we’re very much a soundtrack to my teens / early adult life.
