tom_widdows
Seems to have gone very quite on the old Tonev front. The Sally circus providing a bit of relief for their PR team
tom_widdows
Your Move Celtic http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30496680 Celtic winger Aleksandar Tonev has lost his appeal against a seven-match for racially abusing Aberdeen's Shay Logan. A Scottish Football Association appeal tribunal have upheld October's original guilty verdict against the Bulgarian. That judicial panel found on loan Aston Villa winger Tonev, 24, guilty of using "offensive, insulting and abusive language of a racist nature" towards the Aberdeen defender. A tribunal heard appeal submissions on the player's behalf on 4 December. On Tuesday, Celtic manager Ronny Deila continued to back his player. He reiterated the club's intention to take their appeal as far as necessary. Earlier this month, Deila said: "We don't believe Aleksandar is a racist. "It's been word against word and they are thinking the other guy is telling the truth and Tonev is lying - and, for me, that's not how a court should be. "For me, it should be real proof. This is a very serious accusation and you have to absolutely know you're right. "If it's still going to go on and there's no proof, we will have to do everything we can to help Alex." The members of the tribunal adjourned to consider the evidence and have now published a 3,500-word document outlining how they came to their decision. Tonev joined Celtic on loan from Villa in August, with the incident with Logan taking place in a Scottish Premiership match at Celtic Park in September. During the match, Logan complained to referee Bobby Madden that Tonev had made a racist remark towards him and also reported it to Dons captain Mark Reynolds. BigAl
Justice for Shay No doubt Victim FC will carry out their threat to take this further. Can't help thinking however if they can't bully those in Scotland into supporting their viewpoint, then they are going to struggle to convince others. Wonder if we will get sight of the full document with judgement now ?

BigAl
And what the fuck is the point of a 3500 word report if no one can read it Fill your boots lads Original hearing and appeal judgements are on the SFA website. On the train up from London with white WiFi signal so can't copy and paste. Appears as if Logan was taken to a totally credible and reliable witness that was consistent in his version of events. Tonev however appears to have based his defence on not knowing the meaning of calling someone a black c**t despite giving his entire defence in English. Amongst other excuses are that Logan may have misheard because of the weather conditions inside Porkheid ! Time for the Victim FC to unequivocally apologise to Shay Logan and sent the racist pig back south of the border. Odds on either happening anyone ? Just another poor attempt to cover up the true happenings. So fucking ludicrous you couldn't make it up. Wonder when the statement from the Bulgarian FA is released and if it will contain a single ounce more dignity than Victim FC one ?
tom_widdows
"Celtic Football Club is extremely disappointed by the outcome of the Scottish FA's appeal tribunal. We will be approaching the Scottish FA to seek to address this issue." "We do not consider that any player should be found guilty of such a grave offence on the basis of the evidence presented in this case," "We would like to make it clear that at no stage was it ever suggested that Shay Logan had made any false allegations. "However, Aleksandar Tonev's position consistently has been that he did not say the words that were alleged to have been said and that he is not a racist." Soooo they are saying Logan didn't lie and neither did Tonev.... However for me its starting to look a bit like they are taking a step back and putting it all onto yon Villa boy. tom_widdows
well they really do look like wanks now they have decided not to take this to Switzerland. It was either Roddy Forsyth or Tom English in the press last week slagging them and suggesting 'keep your mouths shut until the decisions have been made in future'
