SeeBass Posted December 14, 2007 Report Posted December 14, 2007 Easter Road runs Fir Park close but I have some great memories at this dump in Lanarkshire. Hopefully tomorrow will add to my experiences. I remember losing my voice in 94/95 when singing non stop in a 1-0 win there which was a game we needed to win or we were relegated yeah? Chris McCart scored an O.G. that day no? Also in the era when Ian Angus used to play for Well my step-father went to throw a ball to him so he could take a corner and as Angus failed to catch the ball he stuck the fingers upto my step-father as if it was his fault he didn`t catch the ball. Was in attendance that night we were involved in that memorable 6-5 Halloween thriller ten days before October 31st my first live games for two and a half years. I`m on BBC Scotland`s highlights celebrating Andy Dow`s opener and got them to send the tape to me. I went to that forgettable 0-0 game in January 2005 too! There was a 1-1 draw there one Sunday afternoon where if memory serves me right Zerouali broke his leg which I`m sure I heard snap from the stand? My last ever game with my step-father was a 1-0 win as Paul Sheerin scored an early penalty to liven up a dreary match. After the game our car broke down a mile or two outside Motherwell and as we tried to fix it the team bus drove straight past us and didn`t stop to help! Can`t remember the score of my first ever game there because I`d urinated down my trouser leg waiting for my step-father in a phonebox to finish on the blower to mum and don`t recall much else as a result of my embarrassment. The puddle seeped onto a road where a busy roundabout stood with Halfords not far away. And even this March`s 2-0 midweek win has a special place in my heart. Was my first evening match alone. But you`ll read all about that in the book! So have others had great memories of this place? Take Care! SeeBass Quote
mizer Posted December 14, 2007 Report Posted December 14, 2007 Last season, Ricky Fosters goal - Jokingly me and Manc_don shouting shooooooot as he was 35 yeads out, he did! GOAL! The season before, TheChimp, another mate and myself charging up to an orange march near the train station singing Aberdeen songs/ anti-hun songs. The young police officer escorting them crapped himself Then we had a nice debate with the motherwell fans who seemed to support said orangemen, they weren't brave until we were on the train and drawing away from them though Quote
Wayneo Posted December 14, 2007 Report Posted December 14, 2007 Best Fir park memory has to be th 6-5 Dandies game, bad start to the season, and finished bottom and got to both cup finals, that was the days Quote

Reekie_Red Posted December 15, 2007 Report Posted December 15, 2007 In recent memory ... Zero's freekick fae about 6 or 7 years ago, the carbon-copy of the one he did at Rugby Park around about the same month. And "thankyou very much for the Del A Mow, thankyou very much, thankyou very very very much". That match was a cracker. I think it was Nicolas Fabiano's last outing in a Dons top. Bisconti was in fine fine form as per usual. Hell, even Patricio Billio had an absolute cracker of a game ... especially when he unleashed the most lethal dipping shot that just about split the Motherwell crossbar fae 30 yards. Quote
Nig Posted December 15, 2007 Report Posted December 15, 2007 I remember losing my voice in 94/95 when singing non stop in a 1-0 win there which was a game we needed to win or we were relegated yeah? Chris McCart scored an O.G. that day no? That game was in December 94, the 2nd away game in 95 was March/April time and that was the night I thought we were down for sure Quote
glasgow sheep Posted December 15, 2007 Report Posted December 15, 2007 I wish I had less memories of fir park Who's bright idea was it not to get a carry out for the train? Quote
SeeBass Posted December 18, 2007 Author Report Posted December 18, 2007 Seeing that goal Brian Irvine scored against Celtic on the footage reminded me of something my step-father said to a friend after we got home; "Should have seen Irvine`s first touch. Took it down like a Brazilian!" Ever heard anything more ridiculous in your life?!!! Take Care! SeeBass Quote
Reekie_Red Posted December 20, 2007 Report Posted December 20, 2007 "Should have seen Irvine`s first touch. Took it down like a Brazilian!" Ever heard anything more ridiculous in your life?!!! I beg to differ. Alfrom heard a fan shout out "Oi, Jess! Yer nithin but a spasticated jellyfish!" Quote
