manc_don Posted January 3, 2015 Report Posted January 3, 2015 Not sure much needs to be said about our current situation, it's fan-fucking-tastic! Though this will be a tough test with Motherwell playing on the back back of an absolute mauling from the Accies. Their form wasn't too bad under their new manager so it'll be interesting to see how we fair. With the timmies taking a small winter break after their Killie game, it's important we keep up the pressure and momentum! COYR Form guide: Motherwell - LDWWL Dons - WWWWW In/Out: Out Prematcher: Flat Match: watching on tv Post Match: flat - Darts Prediction: 1-2 Dons, McGinn Quote
Jute Posted January 3, 2015 Report Posted January 3, 2015 Last few visits to Fir Park have been cracking games and cannot see this being any different. We are on a great run and you would think Well will be desperate to make up for their New Year hammering from Accies. Similar level of performance like New Years Day should see us through although I would like to see us convert a few more of the chances we are creating. In Train then a boozer in Motherwell Away end Boozer in Motherwell then train 2-0 Dons Hayes and Pawlett. Quote

manc_don Posted January 4, 2015 Author Report Posted January 4, 2015 Same starting 11. Flood, Robson and Joe on the bench. It's a reasonably strong bench Quote
rocket_scientist Posted January 4, 2015 Report Posted January 4, 2015 Some lovely football at times. Never a pen but Collum is a clown and should have given the corner minutes earlier after a good save from GW. Great 3 points. Fantastic defensive record keeping on going. Brown had nothing to do in terms of shot stopping. Rooney and Pawlett headers HAD TO hit the target. GW should have scored too. Someone is due a hiding from this team. Jack is a class act. Need more from Hayes currently. PP isn't contributing consistently enough neither over the last few weeks, although well taken goal at ICT. Phenomenal run of form. Keep it going. Quote
manc_don Posted January 4, 2015 Author Report Posted January 4, 2015 It was strange how Thomas' introduction seemed to change everything. We lost our shape and intensity after he came on but we were incredibly wasteful again today. Should have sealed the result after the first 15 mins alone. Very fortunate with the sending off and penalty but i'll take that! That all said, 2-0 away from home, I am ecstatic with that! Top of the league at least for 2 weeks and 7 games without conceding. COYR! Some brilliant football was played at times today. Keep it up! Quote
Jute Posted January 5, 2015 Report Posted January 5, 2015 Good first half performance but second half was not great. We really need to start taking more of the chances we create. Motherwell really are shite and a shadow of the team that finished 2nd last year. Quote

Motherwell really are shite and a shadow of the team that finished 2nd last year. Pretty much sums it up. it's a shame that their red card hadn't happened earlier as justice for cheating their way to 2nd last season. Not that i'm bitter about that. Over 1700 dandies there, great effort! Also: nice little tit bit in BBC gossip this morning: Aberdeen officially have the best defence in the world, with goalkeeper Scott Brown's seventh consecutive clean sheet taking them clear of French outfit St Etienne and Argentina's Racing. Tyrant Posted January 6, 2015 Report Posted January 6, 2015 Motherwell were absolutely hopeless. The last time we played a team as bad as that they came from Riga. We should have had the game done by half time. Become a bit more clinical in front of goal and then I might start to genuinely believe that we're title contenders. Great win though. Another massive game on Saturday. Quote

Agree on pretty much all counts, perhaps Flood coming back might take a wee bit of weight off a relatively small group we're relying on, thought Hayes was not right on it. Felt Pawlett made a lot of good runs that weren't getting made use of and in the end he stopped doing it. Lots of passing back inside when there was room to get behind what were very pish full backs. Might be over critical of a brilliant effort from a right hard working group of players but there you go. Quote
