manc_don Posted December 10, 2015 Author Report Posted December 10, 2015 bid 250k for o'halloran ? Quote
Reidzer 1314 Posted December 15, 2015 Report Posted December 15, 2015 I would definitely like to see us a add a central midfielder in January it is definitely an area we lack cover in. I guess McInnes could also look to tie up a pre contract or two like we did with Shinnie, Logan, Brown, Ward, Goodwillie are all out of a deal at the end of the season so I am sure we may already be looking at possible replacements. Reidzer 1314 Posted December 16, 2015 Report Posted December 16, 2015 The Sun are reporting today that Aberdeen are set to off Ryan McGowan a pre contract in January. Possible replacement for Logan?? Quote
manc_don Posted December 16, 2015 Author Report Posted December 16, 2015 Wouldnt be displeased with that to be honest. I think everyone knows logan will be off just hope it's in the summer rather than the January transfer window Quote
BigAl Posted December 16, 2015 Report Posted December 16, 2015 Sorry to see Logan go but McGowan ticks lots of boxes. Experienced SPL player Internationalist Decent age, hopefully best years ahead of him No fee required Pisses off the Arabs It's a yes from me. Quote
manc_don Posted December 24, 2015 Author Report Posted December 24, 2015 From today's retard, pretty much says what both TD and DM have been saying since they arrived, no new arrivals unless necessary. However, I would expect both Mclaughlin and Parker to disappear into obscurity since they've been non existent over the past few weeks. It seems like they'll be two we'll replace rather get youth in. Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes eyes more English loan raids - but won’t block pathway for Dons kids THE Pittodrie club are building a reputation for being an excellent nurturing ground for young talents, either from their own system or on loan. ABERDEEN boss Derek McInnes is eyeing more English loan raids - but won’t block the pathway for Dons kids to storm into his first team. The Pittodrie club are building a reputation for being an excellent nurturing ground for young talents, either from their own system or having been adopted into the squad. Danny Ward’s magnificent performances this season in goal having arrived on loan from Liverpool at the beginning of the season are another signal of the Reds’ ability to bring the best out of and improve kids. Aberdeen also gave Michael Hector valuable first-team grounding on loan from Reading a couple of seasons ago and the defender has now signed for Chelsea. McInnes’ assistant boss Tony Docherty believes word will spread about the success of youngsters going to Aberdeen and that could improve the chances of more highly-rated English kids being allowed to move to the Granite City. He said: “Danny’s up to nine clean sheets now which is fantastic for him. “It’s important when you sign a loan player that they buy into what you are doing and Danny has done that. “He works well with Gordon Marshall and Scott Brown, who is pushing him every week. “Danny’s a good kid and he has brought a lot to the dressing room. “I can only speak from the experience I’ve had with him but what I’ve seen is a very good goalkeeper with a very good temperament for someone relatively young in the game. “He has got a big future in the game and, hopefully, we can help him along the way at Aberdeen. “That’s how loan spells should work. Michael Hector came here and his career has kicked on to the point he is now at Chelsea. Sammy Turner/SNS Group Dons loan star Hector gives some applause back to the fans after receiving a standing ovation at Rugby Park Dons loan star Hector gives some applause back to the fans after receiving a standing ovation at Rugby Park “We’ve sent Danny Rogers out on loan to Falkirk and he has done well there too and he was excellent against Rangers on Saturday. “Hopefully that move will work out for us in the long run too. Players now know when they come here we will look after them. “We treat them as one of our players and spend every day trying to improve them along with the rest of the squad. “Danny has a good relationship with Gordon, but we would encourage any player who comes here to try to improve their development.” Docherty confessed that scouting never stops, although there are no urgent moves required ahead of next month’s transfer window. He added: “We sat down at the start of the season and assembled as good a squad as we felt we could with the budget we have. We have a good squad not just of footballers but of people here with the right mentality and attitude. “It’s important to have those sort of characters in a dressing room. “We’re happy with what we have got just now but we’re not dismissing anything at this moment. “The manager and Russ Richardson are always identifying players and if an opportunity arises then we’ll look at it.” Docherty, meanwhile, is adamant that the Dons coaching staff will not add bodies for the sake of it, especially with a burgeoning crop of young guns making their way through the system. Kids like Cammy Smith are making huge strides towards regular top-team action and the Aberdeen No,2 has pinpointed other potentially-talented kids who could soon be making the breakthrough. Docherty said: “Danny Harvie, Scott McKenna, Frank Ross, Scott Wright and Frank Ross were with the squad at the weekend, which shows the good group we have coming through. “We won’t block the young players’ pathway to the first team. “We’ve got good talented young players here who will get their opportunity to play.” Quote

Edinburghdon Posted January 8, 2016 Report Posted January 8, 2016 Aberdeen could join the race to sign Falkirk midfielder Will Vaulks, who has been linked with Celtic, Rangers, Norwich City and Sporting Lisbon and was valued at £300,000 when Hibernian inquired about the 22-year-old in the summer. (The Sun, print edition) From the BBC Scottish gossip column. Seems to be getting decent reviews but must admit I've not really seen him play apart from in the Falkirk v Rangers game in December where he looked decent enough and scored the winner. Quote

Good player, would be a very decent signing. Probably get outbid from some championship pish though, so he can sit on a bench for a year. Quote
ally s Posted January 8, 2016 Report Posted January 8, 2016 Decent player, been very impressed any time I've seen him this season. Very good on the ball and can mix it up too. Quote

Jute Posted January 12, 2016 Report Posted January 12, 2016 I read that, surely some form of prank from the P&J?? Was hoping it was an early April Fools story. Why another loan signing especially one who cannot get a game for a 1st division side. Quote

ayrshire_don74 Posted January 12, 2016 Report Posted January 12, 2016 This is where the club need to show some ambition I still dont think we are that far away from Celtic with the right type of player in the side, we need a proper reducer in CM and another attacking option up front Quote
rocket_scientist Posted January 12, 2016 Report Posted January 12, 2016 This is where the club need to show some ambition I still dont think we are that far away from Celtic with the right type of player in the side, we need a proper reducer in CM and another attacking option up front I agree that celtic were there to be taken under the boring Norwegian cunt this year. But AFC haven't shown any ambition for a period extending well into last century that I can't believe anyone can genuinely think that they're going to start showing some now. There's been no change of the personnel in charge of the club ergo it is madness to expect a change in objectives now. Quote
Reidzer 1314 Posted January 12, 2016 Report Posted January 12, 2016 Surely old Stewarty Milne can see we need some reinforcements and surely he can free up some cash for Derek from somewhere?? Even out of his own pocket would be a bonus Quote
Reidzer 1314 Posted January 13, 2016 Report Posted January 13, 2016 Todays transfer murmurings include, Don Cowie on loan, Adam Collin on loan from Rotherham, Ryan Fulton on loan from Liverpool and Stuart Bannigan on a pre contract. Collin and Fulton are both Goalkeepers. None of these of course will amount to anything no doubt Quote
