Stewart Posted February 27, 2015 Report Posted February 27, 2015 According to The Sun this morning. Thoughts? Should give good competition next season if we can keep hold of everyone. Quote
manc_don Posted February 27, 2015 Report Posted February 27, 2015 Thought he was very good at Hearts when he first started. Where's he been since Agree would provide good competition from what I remember of him. Quote
wi_09 Posted February 27, 2015 Report Posted February 27, 2015 Thought he was very good at Hearts when he first started. Where's he been since He went out to the MLS when he left Hearts - I think it was Houston Dynamo he signed for. I thought I read a while ago that his contract had been extended? Clearly not if he is on trial with us. He would be a good addition to the squad IMO. Although I am not too sure he would feel if he were only to be a squad player. Although saying that if we did keep hold of everyone and had the likes of Driver on the bench it shows how far we have come in the past few years to have that sort of strength on the bench, let alone in the starting XI. tlg1903 Posted February 27, 2015 Report Posted February 27, 2015 He's been out in the states but is without a club now. Could be a great move for both parties, he's 27 too which isn't a bad age to get a player at. I thought he looked excellent at hearts also, yes please Quote
mizer Posted February 27, 2015 Report Posted February 27, 2015 I thought I read a while ago that his contract had been extended? Clearly not if he is on trial with us. On 25 November 2014, it was announced that Houston had declined the option on Driver's contract. On December 8, 2014, his rights were traded to D.C. United, who opted not to sign him after a short trial Quote
mizer Posted February 27, 2015 Report Posted February 27, 2015 Looks like he moved back to Edinburgh a few weeks ago going on his twitter account Quote
BrechinRed Posted February 27, 2015 Report Posted February 27, 2015 If hes free - that mean we can get him now? Quote

This bit is especially true. Wasn't he touted as an England international and valued at £1million at some point? If he's a free transfer, would seem a no brainer to me. Hopefully the reasons the MLS teams didn't take him up on a contract offer are for other reasons... Quote
manc_don Posted March 3, 2015 Report Posted March 3, 2015 Any news if he went with the squad to Tenerife? Quote
manc_don Posted March 3, 2015 Report Posted March 3, 2015 Nothing about it on DonStalk twitter feed Well played Quote
Kowalski Posted March 3, 2015 Report Posted March 3, 2015 Any news if he went with the squad to Tenerife? Was spotted in Veronicas last night. Quote

BigAl Posted March 11, 2015 Report Posted March 11, 2015 Happy enough with this. Works for both parties in that gives a spell to prove his worth without shelling out on a risky longer term deal. Assume short term deal means end of the season. We are certainly not any weaker a team as a result. Quote

Hopefully works out for both parties! Quote
Edinburghdon Posted March 11, 2015 Report Posted March 11, 2015 http://www.afc.co.uk/news/5823.php#.VQBbk_1yaAh I'm sure the trial period went a fairway to helping him settle into the squad, hope the lack of competitive football doesnt mean he takes a while to get into the swing of things. Quote
tlg1903 Posted March 11, 2015 Report Posted March 11, 2015 I really love how the club is being run these days. Welcome to AFC An :thumbsup:dy Quote
Jute Posted March 11, 2015 Report Posted March 11, 2015 As long as his injury problems are behind him should be an excellent addition to the squad. Quote
manc_don Posted March 12, 2015 Report Posted March 12, 2015 As long as his injury problems are behind him should be an excellent addition to the squad. From listening to his interview on RedTV, he's very open about having injury problems in his final season at Hearts but apparently in the US he didn't miss one training session so believes these are behind him. Welcome to the club Quote
tlg1903 Posted March 12, 2015 Report Posted March 12, 2015 Speaking to a jambo today, he's gutted hearts weren't in for him. He also said he had a knack of getting really important goals in big games. Could be a master stroke signing Quote

More decent business by the club. par for the course these days.. Quote
