I've just read The Black House by Peter May and moving onto the second of the trilogy: The Lewis Man.

Well worth a look.

Have read The Black House and agree it was a good read.

Didn't know the second book was out, but thanks for the heads up.

Away to have a look for it now

Currently reading Catch 22, it's the second time i've tried to read it but i've found it much easier to read the second time round. Didn't get 1/2 way the first time. Recently finish the English Patient which was a good read.

One of my favourite films but didn't like the book

Just finished The Hunger Games trilogy - great read, can't wait to see the first film on Friday

Reading the 3rd book now. My wife recommended it when the 1st book came out, I reluctantly read it.

Liked the first two and enjoying the 3rd so far.

Recently finished this, was a fantastic piece of work -

Loved Inverting the Pyramid, and on a similar note, just finished this.

Incredibly comprehensive and a very critical biography, prepared to take Clough to task on some of his unacceptable behaviour. Very interesting.

Just started the second book of a song of fire and ice, more commonly known now as a game of thrones thanks to the serialization by hbo. An excellent read so far, a fantasy story that actually has balls.

I'm up to book five now, epic!  Tyrion Lannister is one of the greatest literary creations of all time.

I would have pegged you of having higher standards than 50 shades of grey though hebrew

Been reading hitch 22 which are Christopher hitchens memoirs, pretty good read and thought provoking at times. Though still not sure if he's a complete self assured twat or just passionate.

Also read mafia state recently which was about Russian politics, fascinating read and im glad I don't live there!

I don't get out much these days(!), so in the last few months I have read a ton of thrillers, including:

Archangel by Robert Harris - really enjoyed this one.

The Scarlatti Inheritance, The Matarese Circle, The Osterman Weekend, Bourne Identity/Supremacy/Ultimatum by Robert Ludlum - Osterman the weakest of these, Matarese probably my favourite.

The Odessa File by Frederick Forsyth - great book

The Boys from Brazil by Ira Levin - I'd seen the film first, which kind of spoiled it a bit having Mahoney from Police Academy in my head

Nazi Hunter by Alan Levy - disappointed me hugely, pretty dull

The Spy Who Came in from The Cold by John Le Carre - really quite dark, I've struggled to get in to a couple of his books, I quite liked this one though

The KGB Poison Factory by Boris Volodarsky - large sections on poisoning of Victor Iuschenko and Andrei Livinenko, writing style is a bit annoying but the substance is a good read

Currently have Fatherland by Robert Harris on the go, alternative history set in Berlin 1964 after the Nazis won the war, shaping up to be a good one.

Yeh my pal reckoned Tyrion and Jon Snow were her favourite characters, cannot wait till I can start the next book

Well, you have to read books that get talked about a lot sometimes  ;D

It's like Mills & Boon with a bit soft porn thrown in, apparently most ladies read it on their kindle so no-one knows. I read it on the train  ;)

You fancy a bit S&M at your age Al  :o  :P
