You finished them yet ?

I read the last one on holiday, felt it was a bit padded out and slow, but pace picked up towards the end and all the whole triology came together pretty well.

Won't spoil it for you by disclosing the ending if you haven't got around to it yet  ;)

I just finished the 2nd one on the plane home from Amsterdam - didn't have the same impact on me as the first one had so I am gonna read another few books before I finish the trilogy.

If those books weren't set in Aberdeen then I reckon none of you would read them.

I'm reading The Ignorance of Blood by Robert Wilson. It's the 4th in the series and it's very good so far.

I only picked up Broken Skin as it mentioned AFC but it was actually a very good read

I have now started Eat Pray Love which I believe is coming out as a film with Julia Roberts in the lead role later this year

Might be a bit too girly for all you guys  ;D

Finished The Bricklayer by Noah Boyd not so long ago. A great read

Started A long Glasgow Kiss by Craig Russel a couple of days ago and its been pretty good so far. A death and a few beatings.

Go see it......Something decidedly sexual about Salander. Dangerous character though.....won't spoil it, but watch out for the dildo, it'll bring a tear to your eye

On my holidays I read Robert Harris' Lustrum, Stuart MacBride's Blind Eye (both already covered) and Guillermo Del Torro and Chuck Hogan's The Strain. The Strain, I believe, is the first in a Trilogy and is a take on Vampire mythology. It was a very entertaining read, fast paced from about a third of the way in. The only slight annoyance I had was I felt it was written very much as a film, which I presume is Del Torro's influence and the intention is to make it into a film trilogy anyway. I'd definitely recommend it, I've just got to wait for the second one now.

What did you think of it?

I enjoyed it (I think most Dons fans would and I think those who grew up where there weren't many other Dons fans would be able to relate to a lot of it), but I got a bit tired of his whinging at the end of the book.  It's tough though, he grew up in an exceptional time for the Dons and it's maybe easy to see why he was spoiled and why that attitude came to the fore.

I read "On Fire With Fergir: Me, My Dad and The Dons" on holiday.  Anyone else read it? would like to see what others thought of it...

I'm 4 chapters in, I think, just after the rioting Tims when he builds the Starship Parkhead Destroyer  ;D.

Is the author from Linlithgow? A guy from work was telling me about a book signing there and the book sounds quite similar
