CtS Posted December 28, 2007 Report Posted December 28, 2007 Willie Miller's new book, not the river. This was an unexpected bonus Christmas pressie from the missus, a copy signed by the great man himself also containing a photo of my kids with Willie at the signing. Anyone else read it or in the process of doing so? Quote
mizer Posted December 28, 2007 Report Posted December 28, 2007 I bought it for myself when christmas shopping, just looked at the pictures so far - yes I know thats my level of reading Quote
BobbyBiscuit Posted December 28, 2007 Report Posted December 28, 2007 I'm still in the process of reading this. It's enjoyable because I'm a Dons fan and Willie Miller is obviously our greatest player and my favourite player of all time, but it isn't very insightful. He skims the surface of things when he could go a lot deeper and I think that's really the only moan I have about the book. If any of you have ever seen the Alan Partridge episode about his book where he finishes several anecdotes with "Needless to say, I had the last laugh" then you'll perhaps find a touch of that with Willie's book. He also has a fair few digs at Alan Hansen, which is always good to read. Quote
brownie Posted December 28, 2007 Report Posted December 28, 2007 I was in Soul bar a few weeks back on a Thursday night and saw him. As it was only 19:45 I made an excuse to leave the people I was with for 5 minutes, ran accross the road, bought the book then headed back and got Willie to sign it. Quote
