manc_don Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 If this is true, then absolutely great. Easily future captain material and plays by example.
BobbyBiscuit Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 Brilliant news indeed. He was the main one we had to get signed up. Zander might be daft, but he's not stupid.

Superstar Tradesman Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 Also heard that Clark's bid of £200k has been accepted. (Apologies if that's 'Back To The Future Part III')
TENEMENTFUNSTER Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 Also heard that Clark's bid of £200k has been accepted. (Apologies if that's 'Back To The Future Part III') Don't care where it is on the time/space continuum, as long as we get the candy for Fairy Feller.

TENEMENTFUNSTER Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 Another glamorous club in for one of ours then. Las Vegas of the North! Lee will go thinking that there's a great pleasure beeyatch there.
Kowalski Posted January 10, 2008 Author Report Posted January 10, 2008 ZANDER STICKS WITH DONS 12:00 - 10 January 2008 Zander Diamond will today tell Aberdeen he's staying put - a decision that could keep boss Jimmy Calderwood at Pittodrie. The 22-year-old is now ready to commit his future to the club following a bumper new offer after weeks of negotiations. Calderwood rocked the Dons earlier this week claiming he could quit following confirmation Chris Clark, Michael Hart and Barry Nicholson had all rejected new contracts. But he'll be encouraged by the news Diamond is staying amid the mass speculation linking with Leicester City, Wolves and Nottingham Forest. The 22-year-old's agent Martyn McNeill, son of former Aberdeen manager Billy, intimated his client was ready to prolong his Aberdeen career. "Aberdeen made Zander a revised offer earlier this week and things look more hopeful," said McNeill. "We will let the club no what we are planning to do today. "To be fair to Aberdeen the latest offer on the table is an attractive one." Diamond has resurrected his career at the Dons this season following a series of inspirational displays. But as little as a year ago he was out of the team and struggling to find the form that had scouts travelling to the North-east. He could well go on to become the next club captain and is regarded as the next potential asset Aberdeen could cash in on in future years.
Dr. Mambo Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 Just hope if he does sign on that his form doesn't desert him again like before. We can't afford to keep dead weight on the payroll. Which reminds me, how's Macnamara coming along?
Drew Peacock Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 Could we not just bump up Barry Nic's offer now and then get shot of Clark and Hart for £400K? If so that would be a really good week's work despite all the doom and gloom that's been flying around...
Slim Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 "We will let the club no what we are planning to do today. Did you copy and paste that from the EE site?
Superstar Tradesman Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 Zander signs a new contract, picks up Scotland caps, becomes club captain after a few years and gets a big money move to the Premiership. Diamond because we have the potential to get a good few years out of him / club captain / internationalist / sell on fee - or a mix and match of all the above. He could well go on to become the next club captain and is regarded as the next potential asset Aberdeen could cash in on in future years. Maybe I should start delivering mail for a living?
Jute Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 Nothing in the article says he is saying just that offer is better. Will only believe he is staying when they have a picture of him with the signed contract.

TENEMENTFUNSTER Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 Get fucking in there big man! Canny wait for the broom cupboard picture.
Dr. Mambo Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 Now, lets get Nicholson a better deal.
TENEMENTFUNSTER Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 Now, lets get Nicholson a better deal. Where?
stubo72 Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 Good stuff! Hope it's a decent length contract. 3 and a half years was what was originally being talked about is it no? If he keeps his form up he will still get a move in a couple of years and we might make seven figures out of it... Is it too early to start worrying about him signing for one of the OF in the future?
Dr. Mambo Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 Where? Offer Nicholson a 3 year deal on better terms. I'm sure he'd prefer to stay if the offer was right. Could be the cherry on top to convince Calderwood to stay put.
Goldie03 Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 Could we not just bump up Barry Nic's offer now and then get shot of Clark and Hart for £400K? If so that would be a really good week's work despite all the doom and gloom that's been flying around... YES YES YES
