stonefish100 Posted February 5, 2008 Report Posted February 5, 2008 New Hot Chip album, Hold On is a classic in the making!! Quote
Guest BTR Posted February 5, 2008 Report Posted February 5, 2008 Cassius- Foals, Feking great band and a top tune. I've given Foals a listen minj and I have to say I'm not impressed. First impressions are that they sound like Bloc Party trying to do Klaxons, ie too experimental and without any great hook to the tunes. That and I can't stand Bloc Party. Quote
Superstar Tradesman Posted February 5, 2008 Report Posted February 5, 2008 I must be getting Cassius mixed up as I thought he was a French producer of dance music? Quote
bilbobaggins Posted February 5, 2008 Report Posted February 5, 2008 I mentioned Foals on the corresponding thread on BNP chunt. I think they are quite promising. Quote

Kowalski Posted February 7, 2008 Author Report Posted February 7, 2008 Let's rock! Curiously, Queen - Tenement Funster! I had no idea your username was a Queen song (mainly because I'd never heard of the song). I just assumed you lived in a Tenement. With your stick. And your wheelchair. Sorry! Quote

Guest BTR Posted February 10, 2008 Report Posted February 10, 2008 MGMT - Oracular Spectacular Looking to me like one of the albums of the year already. Most of you will probably have heard the track "Time to Pretend", I'm sure it's used on a TV advert. If you're into electronica like The Rapture/LCD Soundsystem/of Montreal mixed with a wee bit of indieish psychedelia like Dandy Warhols, you'll probably like this. Black Kids - Wizards of Ahhhs Like The Go! Team with guitars, it's quite good indie-pop. Vampire Weekend - Epon Plinky pop a wee bit like We're from Barcelona/Belle & Sebastian. Good Sunday music anyway. Los Campesinos - Hold on Now, Youngster Not sure about this one yet, need to let it grow on me a bit. Quote
Superstar Tradesman Posted February 13, 2008 Report Posted February 13, 2008 Baby 81 - BRMC It's like a 'best of' the last three albums but all new tunes. Quote
Sharpie Posted February 13, 2008 Report Posted February 13, 2008 Sparks - Kimono in my House. Ace. I've just booked to go and see them in May. Quote

Guest BTR Posted February 16, 2008 Report Posted February 16, 2008 Switches - Heart Tuned to D.E.A.D. Anybody else au fait with this bunch? Decent melodic indie, very similar to Air Traffic. Quote
Madbadteacher Posted February 17, 2008 Report Posted February 17, 2008 Was listening to the football on the radio....it's now been hurled about 50' to the end of my driveway and beaten into a pulp of plastic and electronics > > I am NOT a bad loser Quote
