Superstar Tradesman Posted January 17, 2008 Report Posted January 17, 2008 Seems to be a lot less hysteria surrounding what I would class as a much bigger and better occasion than the Atletico Madrid game. This could all be down to a number of reasons so we'll have a little poll to see what the general consensus is. Is it just down to the fact that people aren't panicing for tickets this time? Will there be as many travelling but more on the charters? Just doesn't seem to me to be the same buzz as last time and I can't figure out why? What's your thoughts? Quote
Kowalski Posted January 17, 2008 Report Posted January 17, 2008 Wouldn't miss it for the world! I do get the feeling there are less going than went to Madrid though. Perhaps people are skint because they thought Madrid would be the trip. Some others maybe couldn't get a pass, or time off work. Quote
Guest Nellie The Don Posted January 17, 2008 Report Posted January 17, 2008 I will be on the other side of the world, a trip which I have been planning and looking forward to for some considerable time before the Munich game was on the cards. Quote
BobbyBiscuit Posted January 17, 2008 Report Posted January 17, 2008 I won't be there (and also looking increasingly likely that won't be able to make the home leg either) due to other commitments - holidays already arranged (one at new year, one in feb and one in april) so money is a bit tight taking care of them and work would not have been happy either. I wasn't over for the Atletico game either, I should add, so my hysteria levels have remained the same Quote
Sharpie Posted January 17, 2008 Report Posted January 17, 2008 I've bought a ticket and I'm trying to wangle it as a work trip. I've managed to see the Dons a few times as 'work trips'. Quote
Wazzamatazz Posted January 17, 2008 Report Posted January 17, 2008 I'm going and cannot wait! Missed Athens and Madrid because I was working over in Canada at the time so there's no way I'm missing out this time Quote
Nespa Posted January 17, 2008 Report Posted January 17, 2008 Goin but dont have a ticket! forgot to put ma order in with ma clubs allocation!! Quote
Penfold Posted January 17, 2008 Report Posted January 17, 2008 Don't think there'll be a problem with tickets for this game, and I think that's why there's less "hysteria". I only know a small number of people who went to Madrid but not going to this so although I don't think there'll be as many, it shouldn't be too far off. Quote
Kowalski Posted January 17, 2008 Report Posted January 17, 2008 Goin but dont have a ticket! forgot to put ma order in with ma clubs allocation!! Are you a season ticket holder? If you download a form from www.afc.co.uk and post it asap you might just make it in time for tomorrow's deadline. http://www.afc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/clubNewsDetail/0,,10284~1209001,00.html Quote
Penfold Posted January 17, 2008 Report Posted January 17, 2008 or get someone in Aberdeen area to hand it in for you? Quote

Mackie's ace! Posted January 17, 2008 Report Posted January 17, 2008 I'm not going as it's 6 weeks before my final exams and I have 4 deadlines in the 2 weeks after the game as well. I was lucky enough to be able to manage Madrid, so I'm not too bothered about it. Quote
mizer Posted January 17, 2008 Report Posted January 17, 2008 I initially thought we would take significantly less, but already we have the same amount of Globes or people we go to games with normally traveling. Ticket all sorted through the supporters club this time, no panic. Quote

I was lucky enough to be able to manage Madrid, so I'm not too bothered about it. Madrid was 4 days before an exam I was due to take Luckily they messed up with the paper work and I couldn't sit it, I'd have been fucked otherwise. Quote

Drewsome Posted January 17, 2008 Report Posted January 17, 2008 Weakest excuse to date That tears it Al - Boo for you LOL Quote

I only know a small number of people who went to Madrid but not going to this so although I don't think there'll be as many, it shouldn't be too far off. Think the first part of this post sums it up. Think back to Madrid, ticket allocation 3,000 odds = mad scramble for tickets Munich, initial ticket allocation 6,200 + plus up to another 4,000 if required = tickets for everyone thats going, therefore no hysteria. Anyway, got mine for home and away legs..... bring it on Quote
BigAl Posted January 17, 2008 Report Posted January 17, 2008 That tears it Al - Boo for you LOL fecking hell min, nae you as well...... p.s. start looking up your beer catalogue, my 1,000th post is fast approaching Quote

TENEMENTFUNSTER Posted January 17, 2008 Report Posted January 17, 2008 At least you can blame that instead of the bevvy when you fall o'er Fuck that Al! Very little beer for me this time around mate. The consequences are just too dire to contemplate! Quote
GlezgaRed Posted January 17, 2008 Report Posted January 17, 2008 Only missed Dnipro and Athens because I just couldn't swing it logistically with social commitments I would bust the bank to see The Dons anywhere in Europe, these days it only happens once every 5 years at the moment so you can't afford to pass up these chances Quote
Ajja Posted January 18, 2008 Report Posted January 18, 2008 Gonna be selling my flat around the time of the game and can't justify the money or time Quote
Monkey Posted January 18, 2008 Report Posted January 18, 2008 Falls right in the middle of Edinburgh schools' Febuary half term so I'm not able to go! Why should people at my work with children get priority for holidays at times like that? You'd think they'd want to be working when their children are off school so they don't have to spend time with them!! Quote
