He's been the victim of racial abuse while playing for Dartford. The culprit has been banned from Fitba for 3 years and got some community service.

Brown has taken the opportunity to bad mouth Aberdeen, saying no action has been taken here following a similar incident several years ago. I don't recall any media coverage of this at the time, which is quiet surprising given Brown's willingness to open his yap to the press as well as his constant self promotion on social media.

As much as I disliked Brown, I thought he was dreadful, out of condition and that he had a terrible attitude with a vastly inflated opinion of his own ability, I am disappointed that he endured that kind of shite here.

I find this very hard to believe given as you rightly say of his love of spouting shite on twitter. I doubt very much he would have kept it schtum as i still followed him until recently and he certainly piped up about the latest incidemt. Hope he's wrong but I do find it hard to believe.

Does anyone remember that cheeky as fuck "warm up" at East End park? We had Dunfermline in a cup game (Vernon winner in the dying minutes?) and Brown was on the bench. His "warm up" routine was genuinely taking the piss and I saw that day just how bad his attitude actually was. I questioned it to him on Twitter and he responded with a bizarre subject change without even acknowledging the question. I'm not usually one that gives footballers (or anyone else for that matter) the time of day on social media but I really wanted to know what the fuck he was thinking. Still don't know.

What's this got to do with racial abuse? Fuck all. The boy was a knob but no one deserve racial abuse. Not even huns. But the way I see if if an incident had taken place when he was up here it would've been dealt with. I assume the person down there who was banned was proven guilty. If the same crime could've been proven when he was up here I'm sure the culprit would've been banned too.

Wales goalkeeper Jason Brown has called in police after being targeted with a racist message on Twitter.

A troll tweeted Aberdeen star Brown hours after his team shattered Scotland’s World Cup dreams.

The shaken 30-year-old yesterday made a complaint to Grampian Police, who have launched an investigation.

A racist, abusive and threatening tweet was sent to Brown from an account owned by 27-year-old Jamie Farman. The language used is too strong to publish. Brown was an unused sub during Wales’ dramatic 2-1 victory over Scotland in Cardiff on Friday.

He was sent the rant minutes after he lauded Gareth Bale’s winning goal and praised the Tartan Army for backing their players.

Yesterday Farman, of Aberdeen, said he wasn’t responsible for racially abusing Brown – claiming someone else sent the tweet while his phone was unattended.

He sent a message to Brown which said: “Not sure who tweeted that last night, phone was left on its own.”

After being criticised by other Twitter users, Farman moaned: “It’s not me who sent that tweet, all this s*** to me isn’t warranted.”

Brown was yesterday preparing to travel to Croatia with the rest of the Welsh squad for a World Cup qualifier on Tuesday night.

A source said: “Jason was furious when he checked his Twitter and saw the abuse.

“He could hardly believe what he was reading.

“He had no hesitation in contacting the police even though he’s preparing for the next game and won’t be back in Scotland until later in the week.”

Brown, who has three Wales caps, joined Aberdeen last year on a free transfer from Blackburn Rovers.

He was unavailable for comment yesterday. Farman was also unavailable.

A police spokesman said: “We have received a complaint from a professional footballer concerning an offensive racial remark directed at him through a social networking site.

“The matter is under investigation and any further comment is inappropriate at this time.”

Last night, the Tartan Army were getting set to roll into Belgium for a make-or-break clash.

Fans will be hoping Craig Levein’s men can raise their spirits after the heartbreak in Cardiff.

It’s a must-win game for Scotland if they want to have any chance of reaching the finals in Brazil in 2014.
