thestooge Posted April 8, 2015 Report Posted April 8, 2015 I really enjoyed that tonight. Really good entertainment even if it could have done with another goal or two. Robson was head and shoulders above everyone else for me. Even in the fading embers of his career, when he's at the top of his game, hes a joy to watch. We've not seen a huge amount from him this season but he proved his worth tonight with a display that showcased his technical skill, ranging of passing, physicality, experience and ability to control and influence a team. Shame we didn't get him a decade ago. Quote
manc_don Posted April 8, 2015 Report Posted April 8, 2015 That's the first time I've seen someone say something positive about him in ages, and I'm very glad to see it. He's clearly a skilful player and you're right, a decade ago he would have been something else. Good to read anyway . will he stick around beyond the summer and take up a coaching role? Certainly think we need a winner amongst the coaching staff, could do the squad no harm whatsoever Edit: Having watched the highlights, there were clear plays which were reminiscent of Robson of old, shame about the shot Quote
capitalred Posted April 9, 2015 Report Posted April 9, 2015 said to my mates the other week that we need a barry Robson of 10 years ago in the midfield, noticeable yesterday that there wasnt the huge gaps in midfield that there has been in other recent games, i usually dread him coming on and wasnt overly chuffed to see him start but he was my MOTM.
