manc_don
60! Fast catching up with Big Al Wasn't fortunate to see him play in the flesh, but a great player by all accounts. Not a bad pundit either, nice to dilute the Glasgow pandering
Goldie03
Willie was my absolute hero when I first watched Aberdeen - I thought he was incredible - not a defender like him in the penalty box Canny believe he is 60 - just a bit too old for me then

Garlogie_Granite
Absolutely the best player I will ever see play for the Dons, and one of the best I've ever seen in the flesh. Too many are quick to rubbish Willie due to his failed businesses, and (ill-Founded) purported dourness; but never forget what he did for the Dons, and how he stayed his whole career here when he could have played for any team in the world. His one mistake was sitting in the dug out as an assistant when he should have headed off to learn his managerial trade. Nevertheless, Mr Aberdeen. All the best Willie. BobbyBiscuit
My favourite footballer of all time. Watching him at Hampden in the 89 Cup Final and lifting the trophy is one of my favourite memories from watching the Dons, he was brilliant - glided through matches but when someone needed cemented he would do it. The standards he set for his team mates was one reason we were so good, will never forget him giving Ian Robertson the thousand yard stare at Love St around 1988...Robertson just about melted on the spot. When the Dons needed inspiration, there wasn't a finer sight than Miller stepping out from the back and taking us forward. Archie MacPherson once described him as "imperiously majestic", about the only thing MacPherson got right in his career. Happy 60th Birthday to No.
Brad McEachern
Happy 60th Willie! Obviously due to my age (i'll be 28 this year) and when I became a Don (2012) I never saw him play, but everything I read, saw in clips and heard about him said he was a very special player and a tremendous defender and someone you can be proud to say that he's on our side. That and he's special because he's a one club man.
BigAl
60! Fast catching up with Big Al Wasn't fortunate to see him play in the flesh, but a great player by all accounts. Not a bad pundit either, nice to dilute the Glasgow pandering I am but a mere youngster in comparison to Willie I have nothing much else to add that hasn't already been said in terms of memories by others already, but one moment springs to mind as we've just passed the anniversary of it and that was him scoring the equaliser against the Tims back in 1985 to win the league for us and running the length of the south stand in celebration. I consider myself extremely lucky to have been of an age to have witnessed Miller's entire playing career with AFC. The way the money and Bosman ruling means we are highly unlikely to witness anything like this again.
Tyrant
Willie was managing the Dons when I made my supporting debut at Pittodrie but I've seen more than enough of our history to fully appreciate just how good a player he was. Thoroughly enjoyed reading his book too. It's a shame management didn't work out for him (neither in or out of football) but nevertheless he will always be a legend. It's not too late for a statue to be erected so that we can all say erected.

PS IIRC (and no I wasn't there) didn't he make his debut coming on as a sub for Zoltan Varga in Varga's final game (against Morton?)
