BobbyBiscuit
After reading one of the other Dons forums who have the same thread I thought I'd ask the question here... so what's the answer then? I've got a few I'm thinking about but the one which was immediately in my thoughts was Aberdeen 6 Hearts 2. Go 2-0 up, Hearts get back to 2-2 then we decide we better start taking this game seriously and blow the fuckers away. An Irvine goal to open the scoring, a hat trick from Shearer, a typically sublime finish from Paul Mason, Scott Booth clinically dispatching a fine move at the death and all supported by the quietly magnificent performances of Brian Grant and Lee Richardson. Grant's involvement in Shearer's first (winning the ball on the edge of his own box to start the move then sets up Shearer in their box seconds later) and his left foot, first time pass for the sixth was superb midfield play, and if anyone has a dvd of it, please (sideways ) pass it to Ryan Jack at the earliest opportunity.... So what's yours..?
rocket_scientist
I was lucky enough to be old enough to be there. Bayern 1983. My wife was there, more than 3 years before we met. How's that for good karma? We will pass 30 years together next summer. I was in Goteborg however and she wasn't. Piner.
scotfree
I have to go with what Rocket said about the Bayern game. Just a unreal performance. But another game that has always stuck in my mind is the 1986 cup final against Hearts. Just a totally one sided game, with us just tearing apart Hearts. We played with so much confidence, and not once did it look like we would lose.
rocket_scientist
The 86 final, the Yonny Hewitt show when he stuck two fingers up to the corrupt tink Ferguson, wasn't at Pittodrie of course but one of the best ever displays by AFC. manc_don
Good thread bobby! Given I don't get to Pittodrie very much, I'd have to say the bayern game although that might have been the booze. The Celtic 4-2 game was great just because it was a complete shock. The days when we would have the likes of duff and mackie playing seem like light years ago. dave_min
As a kid, I can't see past the Copenhagen game. That Rangers game midweek where they lost the title was decent too. Following the Dons from the late 90's onwards means I can only make a meaningful contribution to the "Shittest Pittodrie Performances" thread. Lemon beer is sharp as fuck. BigAl
Lucky enough to have many great moments to choose from. Going to go for one that hasn't been mentioned yet, the one I like to refer to as Dougie Bell game To be playing in a European semi final and be two up inside four minutes was the stuff that dreams are made of, and certainly was the moment when I believed that our club were destined to triumph on the big stage. Halcyon days lads
tlg1903
Copenhagen was great, the Tim game a few months ago was a bit special also. My first ever hun game round about 94 was decent, finished 2 each but was a great atmosphere
