Stewart Posted March 7, 2016 Report Posted March 7, 2016 Article from the official site: http://www.afc.co.uk/news/7568.php#.Vt0p4vmLSM8 Would imagine he'll be likely to overtake Anderson if he gets another contract. Think he only has a year left? Full list of players with over 300 appearances is on that link and features club legends like Miller, McLeish, Leighton and Mackie. Quote

Fair play to him, he's a decent squad player and always a useful one to have. Quote
RicoS321 Posted March 7, 2016 Report Posted March 7, 2016 At the moment he's probably our most consistent centre half. I like Considine. He can play football, which is more than can be said for Reynolds and Taylor (not that I have a problem with either of them). He's been above average in our first 11 for the last 4 seasons I'd say. Still prone to the odd mistake, although I think these are mostly over-stated due to the time it took for him to settle into our first team when he was younger, where he was far more error-prone. Tims aside (normally, not at the moment), I think he'd walk into any SPL team. Quote

Tims aside (normally, not at the moment), I think he'd walk into any SPL team. I don't disagree, rightly or wrongly he is the best we have. He's not the future though, certainly not if we have bigger ambitions imo. He has too many concentration and positional flaws to be a first team regular in the bigger games but can certainly do a decent job against most teams. Problem is, he can't lead anyone alongside of him, which is why Taylor and Reynolds' weaknesses are even more obvious. Anderson is the reason why both he and Reynolds looked decent. His ability to talk them through games was only realised after he'd gone. Two centre halves are a priority this summer. Quote
rocket_scientist Posted March 7, 2016 Report Posted March 7, 2016 I agree he's ace. Cos he tries his best ALL the time. Unlike too many. Unfortunately his best isn't good enough for a title winning team. Correction: He hasn't been good enough to play regularly in a team that could win the league. But he's a good enough squad player for a team with aspirations to win it. He was developing great with Anderson beside him. I was fully expecting him to be an excellent centre half by now. I think it's a shame that he's never really been given the opportunity to play a dozen consecutive games in that position. We've not done a very good job with his development but on the other hand, he's hardly been breaking the door down so I guess we will never know how good he could've been. Probably only 8% more than we have seen currently but the one thing he is not and never will be is a Left Back. Quote
Leftside Posted March 8, 2016 Report Posted March 8, 2016 playing alongside diamond probably made him look a lot worse than he actually was. When he is playing, I always find myself waiting for his next mistake or misjudgement, and he seems to seldom let me down. Still a better player than his father. Quote

Considine is a player that clearly divides opinion, but no one old enough to remember Doug can argue with your last sentence Quote
