manc_don Posted August 5, 2016 Report Posted August 5, 2016 Signed contract extension until 2020 Brilliant news, just what we needed after last nights result Quote
LA-Don Posted August 5, 2016 Report Posted August 5, 2016 Great news! Best goalscorer we've had since Frank McDougall........although someone may prove me wrong. Felt for him on the penalty miss as he's been a great signing for us. Quote

BigAl Posted August 5, 2016 Author Report Posted August 5, 2016 I agree with you Al! As an aside, McDougall was fucking awesome. Worth pointing out if Frank's career hadn't been prematurely cut short at age 28 I shudder to think just how many goals he could have signed of scored for us. Quote
LA-Don Posted August 5, 2016 Report Posted August 5, 2016 Hmmmm, debatable. Shearer scored more spectacular goals but, according to wiki which may not obviously be accurate, Shearer scored 53 in 157 games for us and Rooney is 45 in 77 games. Different types of players with certainly different level of teammates, but what makes a better goalscorer, scoring ratio of goals to games? McDougall would have scored loads. Loved going to school on the Monday and ripping into my mates after he'd scored 4 against Celtic in '85! Gutted when he retired. Quote
tom_widdows Posted August 5, 2016 Report Posted August 5, 2016 Be even more gutted if you saw the state of him today. Really sad sight Quote
rocket_scientist Posted August 5, 2016 Report Posted August 5, 2016 Some facts gentlemen. Rooney is an excellent practitioner. But he's not a winner. He will never win a Premier League title with AFC. Just like he's never won fuck all. He's a journeyman. That's fact, whether you like it or not. Quote
Edinburghdon Posted August 5, 2016 Report Posted August 5, 2016 Just like he's never won fuck all. Apart from the league cup... Quote
LA-Don Posted August 6, 2016 Report Posted August 6, 2016 2009-10, first division player of the year and league champion too.... Golden boot 2014/15? Quote
