donsdaft Posted January 26, 2017 Report Posted January 26, 2017 It's a long way. People go to Turkey on holiday (probably not Ankara) Do you fancy walking there? How about, just for a laugh, we build a wall from Aberdeen to Ankara. A big wall, a beautiful wall, an impregnable wall. Then, lets get the turks to pay for it. I keep reading that the US Mexican border is approximately 1900 miles long. I thought I would try to put that distance into some sort of perspective. Ankara is 1962 miles from Aberdeen. Get building lads. The boy's a fuckin nutter. Quote
RicoS321 Posted January 26, 2017 Report Posted January 26, 2017 It would make a fucking ace wall. Much better than Trump's shite. Quote
donsdaft Posted January 26, 2017 Author Report Posted January 26, 2017 Get it built Any Facebook aficionados out there prepared to lend a hand? Quote
Buc Posted January 26, 2017 Report Posted January 26, 2017 Aye that's some length of wall . Will he get the Mexicans to build it just doesn't seem right. Quote
donsdaft Posted January 26, 2017 Author Report Posted January 26, 2017 Hmmm, I've been looking into this and although Ankara is the correct district as the crow flies we might be better to follow established road routes. It would also cut down on the distance we have to build the wall over water. So, it's a wee bit shorter but the Broch to Belgrade would be an acceptable distance. When do we start? Quote

I'm sure you could get a crowd funding page sorted via fezbook, bring on the wall! Belgrade is better than Ankara anyway Quote
OxfordDon Posted January 27, 2017 Report Posted January 27, 2017 The concrete section of the Berlin Wall was approx. 65 miles long in total. 1962/65= 30.18 Therefore, Trump Wall = 30 Berlin Walls. Quote
TheDeeDon Posted January 28, 2017 Report Posted January 28, 2017 The irony of the Mexican border wall will be when it is exposed immigrant labour is building it. Maybe Canada had better build a wall to stop all the Americans getting into Canada after Trump has been in office a few more weeks and they all try to leave. I half expect to discover Armando Iannucci is working for Trump, it would be satire at its best if it wasn't so serious. Quote
donsdaft Posted January 28, 2017 Author Report Posted January 28, 2017 As long as we keep laughing at him we have a chance. If laughter turns to fear we are in big trouble. Pssst, do you think it might be Trump that's taking away the Simmies? Quote
Gervaise_Brookhampster Posted January 28, 2017 Report Posted January 28, 2017 I prepose that our wall will not stop at the sea, we should have it floating in the North Sea with intermittent wind turbines pointing at Balmedie Quote

The irony is already there: Trump's wall: Mexican construction firms likely to be biggest winners Quote
donsdaft Posted January 29, 2017 Author Report Posted January 29, 2017 The headlines today are good. Particularly the one in the Times headed "Trump and Charles in climate row" I'm lost for words, you'll have to read it yourself. Quote
cupidstunt Posted February 6, 2017 Report Posted February 6, 2017 You'd be too fucked to walk around Ankara after walking all the way there. Hilly place. Quote
