manc_don Posted March 28, 2018 Report Posted March 28, 2018 Chuffed McKenna capped off a good week for him with a MOTM performance. Hopefully Eck sees him as a starter now. First time since 2004 Scotland have had 3 Aberdeen players playing? Criminal given how shit scotland have been for yonks, and how good we've been. Thank fuck that fud strachan got the boot. Quote
LA-Don Posted March 28, 2018 Report Posted March 28, 2018 Dare I say we’ve got some good young players in defense and midfield? But wtf regarding forwards??? Quote
Garlogie_Granite Posted March 28, 2018 Report Posted March 28, 2018 Dare I say we’ve got some good young players in defense and midfield? But wtf regarding forwards??? Cummings should have started, Griffiths when fit. there's yer first choices, need to find back up. Quote
tlg1903 Posted March 28, 2018 Report Posted March 28, 2018 If May is over his injuries now here's hoping he can start banging them in in red and get a call up. Quote

Not sure what Cummings has actually done to deserve a place in the squad. His 50 odd goals for Hibs were all in the 1st division and he's only scored a handful of goals for Forest and Sevco. The jury is still out on him. Quote
donsdaft Posted March 28, 2018 Report Posted March 28, 2018 No argument there....but......if he's Scottish then he's definately ahead in the queue Quote
Ten Caat Posted March 28, 2018 Report Posted March 28, 2018 No argument there....but......if he's Scottish then he's definately ahead in the queue So who do you place as being more "Scottish"? A loon born in London but with all his family Scottish born and bred or a loon born in Edinburgh but with all his family English born and bred? Quote
BigAl Posted May 14, 2018 Report Posted May 14, 2018 McKenna, Shinnie, McLean & Christie in the squad for summer tour. Christ used to be you couldn't get near a squad if you earned your living in an Aberdeen shirt. Not really concerned for the two who have now left, but not going to be any kind of summer break for Shinnie & McKenna. Quote
donsdaft Posted May 14, 2018 Report Posted May 14, 2018 NNnnoooooooo Nae bloody Scotland again. 2 dons players in the squad Shinnie could probably do with a rest but I would imagine that the dream just continues for McKenna. As long as he gets a fortnight off sometime, that will do him. Quote

donsdaft Posted May 14, 2018 Report Posted May 14, 2018 You have to have hard and fast rules on this or international football becomes a farce. If it means the odd cow at the Derby then so be it. Anyway, I've already conceded the "father" rule. I'm not prepared to go any further. Quote

Probably explains why Dons players selected. Quote

Still it's the thought that counts. Quote

Lencarl Posted May 28, 2018 Report Posted May 28, 2018 Do you want them to show it live when it's not actually being played? The point I was making is BBC Scotland can not normally afford to show Scotland games live like Sky but showing games that Scotland fans will probably miss is okay. Quote
manc_don Posted May 28, 2018 Report Posted May 28, 2018 It’s also a friendly, probably cheap as chips. At least it’s being shown, I’d hardly bother. Peru is a lively place, if it’s anything like the World Cup qualifiers, I doubt any of those players will experience anything like it. It was madness. Quote
Jute Posted May 30, 2018 Report Posted May 30, 2018 https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DeZeVUHWkAE6kSP.jpg 1-0 down at half time thanks to a penalty when ball struck McKenna’s arm following a fuck up by Archer. McKenna been playing well so far. Full backs both very poor for us. That said we were pretty comfortable until Archer decided to try and tackle his own player. On this showing France and Denmark will easily qualify from their group. Quote

Absolute shocker from Archer when Mulgrew was in control of the situation. Peru player had an open goal and belted the ball right at McKenna, nothing intentional but struck his arm. Poor game, they are 11 in the world apparently and look pretty wank. Quote

He had to try and block the shot and was unlucky ball hit his arm. Quote
Jute Posted June 2, 2018 Report Posted June 2, 2018 McKenna captain for tonight’s game against Mexico. 4 players who finished season in Dons shirt start tonight. Long time since that’s happened. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DetmdFLU0AAaFtZ?format=jpg Quote

Long time since that’s happened. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DetmdFLU0AAaFtZ?format=jpg Really pleased for Shinnie & McKenna, and obviously what an achievement for young Scott McKenna to captain his country, incredible. Certainly a more attack minded line up, but still think Mexico will run out comfortable winners, for various reasons, but I don't think the future of the National team is as bad as people make it out to be, plus there's still a good few players that pulled out mind. Certainly can't be worse than the same continued duds who continually flopped. Quote
tlg1903 Posted June 3, 2018 Report Posted June 3, 2018 Somewhat galling to see Shinnie play LB for Scotland. Quote
