Mackie's ace! Posted February 24, 2008 Report Posted February 24, 2008 Team: Soutar, Duff, Diamond, Maybury, Mair, Foster, Nicholson, Severin, Mackie, Miller, Walker. Discuss. Langfield, Aluko and Considine dropped to bench, Lovell, Maguire, De Visscher and Bus with them. Do we really need to change our entire defensive line again? Quote
manc_don Posted February 24, 2008 Report Posted February 24, 2008 Yes if we are to get up to triple figures this season, in defensive partnerships that is! Why has Aluko been dropped? I'm really unsure of how this is going to go now. Quote
Mackie's ace! Posted February 24, 2008 Author Report Posted February 24, 2008 No idea. Honestly don't think our defence needing changing from Thursday even though we lost 5 goals. It was Bayern after all, not Brechin. Certainly don't agree with dropping Langfield when the other option is Derek 'I don't want to play for the club' Soutar. And obviously our wonderful striking partnership of Mackie and Miller should remain untouched. Quote
topcorner Posted February 24, 2008 Report Posted February 24, 2008 I thought Lovell might have got a start today. Dunno why Considine has been dropped, and Aluko was our best player on Thursday night Quote
Mackie's ace! Posted February 24, 2008 Author Report Posted February 24, 2008 I thought Lovell might have got a start today. Quote
topcorner Posted February 24, 2008 Report Posted February 24, 2008 Aye exactly, wishful thinking Quote
Mackie's ace! Posted February 24, 2008 Author Report Posted February 24, 2008 Glad I didn't make an effort to go today. Although got a lot of work on was tempted as I've been to every Dons game at Rugby Park since 04/05 season. I've seen some shite games right enough. Quote
topcorner Posted February 24, 2008 Report Posted February 24, 2008 I was wanting to go but decided at the end not to bother. Still think we'll fcuk em though Quote
manc_don Posted February 24, 2008 Report Posted February 24, 2008 I was wanting to go but decided at the end not to bother. Still think we'll fcuk em though See, I'd be tending to agree with you, but all these changes for changes sake means it will take a while for the team to actually get going. All depends on which Aberdeen team are told to turn up really. I'll still stand by 2-1 Aberdeen with Maguire scoring the first! Come on you reds! Quote
Mackie's ace! Posted February 24, 2008 Author Report Posted February 24, 2008 Maguire's on the bench? Quote
topcorner Posted February 24, 2008 Report Posted February 24, 2008 Maguire scoring first!? Must be 500-1 for him to score at all!?? I'm off to the pub, mon the Dons!!! Quote
Ajja Posted February 24, 2008 Report Posted February 24, 2008 Some players must be needing a rest. It makes some sense to change things about. 4-1 against UTD 5-1 against Celtic 3-1 against Hibs 5-1 against Bayern Why oh why is Langfield not playing......... Its utterly perplexing. Quote
manc_don Posted February 24, 2008 Report Posted February 24, 2008 Thats a great word, perplexing But yes, but how many times have we kept the same defensive line up for any of those games? Sneckie, stranger things have happened Quote
Madbadteacher Posted February 24, 2008 Report Posted February 24, 2008 Some players must be needing a rest. It makes some sense to change things about. 4-1 against UTD 5-1 against Celtic 3-1 against Hibs 5-1 against Bayern Why oh why is Langfield not playing......... Its utterly perplexing. We need achange, if only so that the players see a change can be made. Also 17 goals in 4 games = problem, no? Quote
manc_don Posted February 24, 2008 Report Posted February 24, 2008 How many defensive partnerships are we into now though? Is that not the problem? Players aren't getting an opportunity to settle with each other. Its something that should have been dealt with as soon as they knew Anderson was leaving. Quote
Mackie's ace! Posted February 24, 2008 Author Report Posted February 24, 2008 Okay statto geeks. Give me the defensive line ups for each of those games, including subs. Bet you it wasn't the same for each one. I want some consistency to give the defence a chance. Not changing every game/20 minutes. Quote
Mackie's ace! Posted February 24, 2008 Author Report Posted February 24, 2008 You know what I'm on about manc. Quote
Montana Posted February 24, 2008 Report Posted February 24, 2008 Langfield must be having a confidence crisis. Either that or he has been out on the lash again? Here's hoping we do the business today Quote
manc_don Posted February 24, 2008 Report Posted February 24, 2008 Sneckie yes I do I agree with you, thats what I was getting at, I bet we didn't keep the same defensive line in any of those games. Jimmy said on the radio he thinks Langfield is low in confidence. Bit weird that. But I see why, but as i've stated before, don't see the point when what we've got isn't anywhere near any better. But enough negativety, Come on you reds! Quote
Mackie's ace! Posted February 24, 2008 Author Report Posted February 24, 2008 First thing as commentary came through... "Soutar...flapping!" Great. Quote
Mackie's ace! Posted February 24, 2008 Author Report Posted February 24, 2008 Anyone surprised? Mackie passes up a great opportunity, and now we are one down. Quote
manc_don Posted February 24, 2008 Report Posted February 24, 2008 for fucks sake. we've been overun so far. Quote
Mackie's ace! Posted February 24, 2008 Author Report Posted February 24, 2008 I'm very cynical. Quote
manc_don Posted February 24, 2008 Report Posted February 24, 2008 As am I, not disagreeing with you at all. It was almost inevitable. Quote
Montana Posted February 24, 2008 Report Posted February 24, 2008 Ages to go Sounds like a really cheap goal to use Duff at attacking midfield today is unusual. sounds like a 3-1-3-1-2 Hopefully we change to a 4-4-2 and sort it out.. Quote
