Scottish football is not doing enough to tackle sectarianism, according to some of those employed by the league to help identify it. A number of current and former match delegates have told BBC Scotland of their dismay at reporting the problem only for no action to be taken. "It was so frustrating," said one.

"And I know that some of the delegates who are still working today are absolutely appalled that nothing has changed."

Every Scottish football fan knows that it is Celtic and Sevco who are the culprits regarding sectarianism. The SFA and the SPFL will do nothing about addressing the issue in case they annoy these two clubs and their fans.

I also blame the Scottish Football media in their non coverage of the subject when these two teams play.

Nothing will ever change until the powers to be in the Scottish game grow a pair.

The sad part is it is not just the ugly sisters. They have the majority of the blame put on them (rightly so IMO) but sectarianism is still rife in Scotland and it is all too easy to pigeon hole it into football.

Some of the worst sectarian bile I've heard actually came from a couple of Aberdeen fans who had also adopted the 'holly willies prayer' attitude of 'We're Aberdeen so its not sectarian when we say it.

A quote from a book springs to mind (think it was an Ian Rankin or maybe Christopher Brookmyre).

'Scotland wasn't a racist country. It was too busy concentrating on sectarianism & bigotry'

Our national stadium has a catholic end and a protestant end.

Says it all really

Not strictly true at least for half the ground. I know a fair number of protestants who support Celtic. I don't know any Catholics who support sevco.

Its 90% anti catholic bigotry and rest anti 'proddy'. However what is a proddy ? It is a generic term , imported from Ulster.

Appears the word hun is sectarian, which is garbage, its a derogatory term for a rangers fan.

One club and the OO are the catalyst for any display of sectarianism in Scotland, until this is tackled head on then nothing will change.

Those of you who dont reside in the West of Scotland/Central belt dont know how lucky you are as you are generally not exposed to this nonsense

Sectarianism, racism and bigotry are exercised by peoples of sub-average intelligence.

Football with its sense of tribal belonging is also attractive to non-thinking classes.

This problem is not primarily a football problem. It's a human one. People are stupid.

Boy George nailed it decades ago. "War is stupid..."

The Scottish Government has asked for the SPFL's figures relating to sectarianism to be made public, but so far the league body has resisted.

The SPFL employs delegates to help enforce league rules during matches and identifying sectarian singing is part of that brief but when the delgates report their findings to the SPFL nothing is ever done about it.

The problem being that any attack on that club or it's fans, is instantly assumed to be an attack on Protestantism.

If it wasn't for the football clubs, these people would have no interest in religion. It's not even religion they're interested in. They just use it as an excuse to be fucking bams.
