RicoS321
It should have been at Tynecastle or Easter Road. It's a total sham. There'll be 20K max there. It's a big game, I'm looking forward to it.
Lencarl
Hampden is set to be less than half full for tomorrow’s Scottish Cup semi-final between Aberdeen and Motherwell. Motherwell aren’t expected to take any more than 6000 fans to the National Stadium for the 12.15pm kick-off. And while Dons supporters will double that, large sections of the 51,000-capacity arena will be empty for a game that is being screened live by BBC Scotland and Sky Sports. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/motherwell-aberdeen-set-play-scottish-12355647 Never mind the Ugly Sisters game on Sunday is a sell out that's all that matters. LA-Don
Not a lot of pregame chat and predictions. It's a cup semi final!!! I say we'll go with - Lewis Ball Arnie McKenna Considine OConnor Christie GMS Stewart McGinn May Woodman Reynolds Rooney Wright Harvie Cosgrove Chidi (if fit) I'm going with 3-1 us, Stewart, May, McKenna. I think the big Hampden field and a good surface benefit our skill and pace. Regardless of missing two of our top performers we still have 5 solid attacking players and enough at the back to hold Motherwell as we did last week. RicoS321
Aye, it's going to be a good one. I'm excited about it. Make or break for the season.
rocket_scientist
Now then. One needs to consider how these words will be perceived. Is it a case of speaking with pessimism to mask hidden hopes and naturally-occurring optimism? Or simply to soften the blow in advance of any bad news that might occur? Nope. I don't give a fuck how any cunt interprets fuck all. I'm North East. I'm with Dr M Scott Peck. Dedication to the truth is all. I think we will lose. 5/2 for Motherwell is ridiculously generous. AFC sans 3 of our best players - not that we have many good footballers - ain't winning this. McInnes couldn't inspire a grunnies tea party. 3 or 4 nil or 1. manc_don
We really should be winning this, but I’ve a bad feeling about it. Just not sure where our drive is going to come from. 2-1 well after extra time.
tom_widdows
I'm going out on a limb and predicting a bizarre absolute hammering for Motherwell akin to the St Johnstone league cup Semi-Final 4 years back. So bizarre a result the fans won't know what to do with themselves afterwards and supporters buses and pubs will be packed with dons fans all slightly zombified quietly sipping their pints/ carry outs. Bar staff and bus drivers will be on edge wondering what the fuck is going on. Or it will be 1-0 motherwell
RicoS321
Just leaving. Ridiculous time to be getting up for the fitba. Should be a good one though. 13 degrees predicted, so I won't be needing ma t-shirt. 2-3 the dons. Glorious comeback sealed with a 93rd minute winner fae Considine, after strikes from Christie and May turned around a 2 goal deficit with just 7 minutes left. I stayed until the end, while non-super-fans left in disgust. Maybe this should be in the betting thread?

BigAl
Just heading up the road now. 3-1 to us
Ten Caat
Still not confident but think we will scrape through after extra time 0-1 (Christie)
tom_widdows
BBC saying its a 4-3-3 formation May, Rooney & Stewart all upfront
rocket_scientist
7.5 minutes in. We are winning this. They are worse than us.
rocket_scientist
15 mins. They've come back into it. Even game.
tom_widdows
and it begins.... Fucking ittirates me seeing players stop to claim for a foul etc rather than just getting on with it and waiting for the whistle!
tom_widdows
Jesus fucking christ Lewis & Mckenna!!! We have 3 upfront (supposedly) and yet there is no urgency, or movenment. Its get to the edge of the box, stop, look up, wait, randomly cross it in and wait for motherwell to clear.
manc_don
Fucking awful
Ten Caat
Ball was correct about the handball but ffs it is drilled into your head from about 7 years old you play the whistle never stop. The second.....unbelieveable what is Mckenna thinking about going for it on his left foot. Whatever happened to coaching 2 footedness ffs. And Joe isn't entirely blameless either .....slow to react
Dons1Huns0
It must be noted that that’s 2 week’s in a row McKenna has tried and failed to clear a simple ball and its lead to a goal. As much as the other defenders all get abuse he’s been just as bad since the Scotland games.
manc_don
Only pass marks so far have been Stewart. Rest of the of the team has been fucking awful. Thank god nwakali went off injured. GMS might actually do something . Made a huge difference within seconds. May really should have scored.
rocket_scientist
Abject. The first half performance by Aberdeen was abject. Fucking embarrassing actually. Professional footballers? Utter shite.
OxfordDon
1. No Shinnie and Logan really hurts us. 2. Ball is an utter liability today. Sub him at half-time. 3. Scotland needs VAR. There is no justification for starting a description of a goal as "yes it was a handball but..."
BigAl
Severely tempted to just fuck off back down the coast now rather than sit through another 45 minutes of this. Just booked golf for next Saturday as can't be fucked going to Rugby Park. Absolutrly fucking raging.
OxfordDon
Still plenty time for Niall McGinn to come on and score a legendary hattrick.
