SeeBass Posted May 17, 2018 Report Posted May 17, 2018 Anybody have a particular opinion on today's ruling to change the maximum stake allowed on these machines to just £2 a spin?? I think bookmakers shot themselves in foot generally speaking with said terminals. No way do they give value for money nor are they that entertaining. Nobody should be able to lose £300 in a minute on something so against us gamblers. I once watched some Chinese guy lose around £1,500 in ten minutes. Punters can't be putting in like £500 just to win say a £50 profit!!! Quote
minijc Posted May 17, 2018 Report Posted May 17, 2018 It's a great decision to cut the max stake, it may not eliminate problem gambling altogether however it's a massive step in the right direction, seen plenty of people do their bollocks on them regularly and they are just pure evil, designed to take advantage of the weak and vulnerable. tintin Posted May 17, 2018 Report Posted May 17, 2018 Correct desicion. If it means some bookmakers close their high street shops so be it. Quote
rocket_scientist Posted May 17, 2018 Report Posted May 17, 2018 Correct. It takes a real kind of spesh to use these machines and they need to be protected from themselves. Quote
tintin Posted May 17, 2018 Report Posted May 17, 2018 Hopefully next agenda item is the cartoon racing. Quote
Guest kiriakovisthenewstrachan Posted May 19, 2018 Report Posted May 19, 2018 Horribly addictive machines. They are spot on when called the crack cocaine of gambling. Would advise anyone to stay well clear of them. Quote
