Ten Caat Posted September 25, 2018 Report Posted September 25, 2018 Sure I read yesterday the Ferguson is still out but Frank Ross now fit and available, not that I think he will play in any capacity in this one. Hibs aren't really a big physical team but they are quick in every part of the field. We certainly need to keep the ball far better than we did on Saturday so on this occasion I'd probably go with Gleeson in place of Ball but it honestly would not surprise me if McInnes goes for a total shitfest line up hoping for a breakaway goal in a dour 1-0 win and starts Ball as well as Shinnie and Gleeson. BigAl Posted September 25, 2018 Report Posted September 25, 2018 I'll give him the defend part, but can't honestly say i am aware of us blatantly time wasting. Then again I might just be blinkered. Quote
KennyFuckinPowers Posted September 25, 2018 Report Posted September 25, 2018 Been stewing on this, and what 11 I think would be enough to get us through. Lewis Logan Devlin McKenna Lowe Ball Shinnie GMS Forrester McGinn Wilson I know I was saying about Gleeson coming in for Ball, but the more I think about it, Hibs' full backs do like to get forward, a lot like ours, so perhaps Ball would be the logical choice given that whoever plays in there will need to cover Logan at RB if he pushes forward and gets caught in possession etc... As much as I like Gleeson, he might not be ready for that kind of exertion. And I am certain there will be eyebrows raised at Forrester's inclusion, however, he is a CAM by trade & everyone down south was saying that's where we'd get the most of him, we need that creative spark in a game like this, Lennon won't anticipate we play him I don't imagine, therefore they may need to accommodate him which would maybe throw his plans a little, he may be reluctant to push too many bodies forward, which in turn helps us. Wilson won't last 90 minutes, I think it's going to mightily important that we don't try and sneak a goal at the end, we're going to need to take the game to them, try get 2-0 up and then manage the game. 1-0 won't be enough. Create opportunities for Wilson/McGinn/GMS/Forrester & be clinical. My head is saying this will be one of those nights where we just don't turn up, would absolutely love to be proved wrong. If we do manage a result, there's no excuse not to push on in the League afterwards. Quote
Madbadteacher Posted September 25, 2018 Report Posted September 25, 2018 Expecting a stunning 6-3 victory today Oot Teaching Teaching Still teaching 6-3 GMS (3) Logan, Ball, Gleeson Quote
Slim Posted September 25, 2018 Report Posted September 25, 2018 Can’t see anything other than a morale-sapping humping. Quote
Jute Posted September 25, 2018 Report Posted September 25, 2018 Lewis Ferguson (knee) and Scott Wright (ankle) remain out along with long-term absentees Tommie Hoban (shoulder), Mark Reynolds (knee) and Greg Tansey (groin). Quote
tamzarian Posted September 25, 2018 Report Posted September 25, 2018 the draw away to Burnley, ^^^ Got pished in the cricket club and passed out after 90 minutes. Quote
ayrshire_don74 Posted September 25, 2018 Report Posted September 25, 2018 am an average joe can someone explain the line up 7 defenders start ? Quote
Slim Posted September 25, 2018 Report Posted September 25, 2018 Looks like either GMS will play centrally behind 2 strikers or Cosgrove will be up top on his own and GMS/Wilson will be playing on the wings. That would leave zero creativity in the middle though. Quote
Elgindon Posted September 25, 2018 Report Posted September 25, 2018 Aberdeen: Lewis, Logan, Devlin, McKenna, Considine, Lowe, Ball, Shinnie, Mackay-Steven, Cosgrove, Wilson. Substitutes: Cerny, Forrester, Gleeson, McGinn, May, Campbell, Anderson. Quote
Lencarl Posted September 25, 2018 Author Report Posted September 25, 2018 Interesting starting 11. I have a good feeling about the game tonight. Quote
Ten Caat Posted September 25, 2018 Report Posted September 25, 2018 Has to be a 3-5-2 It says something about Forrester and Gleeson to a lesser extent that DM would rather fill 2 midfield slots with full backs (3 if you include Shinnie). Honestly have no idea how this one is going to play out. If it comes off DM is a genius but if we get a doing the knives will be out Quote
Elgindon Posted September 25, 2018 Report Posted September 25, 2018 Dom Ball off the bar Sounds pretty even so far,Hibs looking a bit more dangerous Quote
ayrshire_don74 Posted September 25, 2018 Report Posted September 25, 2018 didnt know ball had that in the locker as a sitter in front of back 4 fine, but not alongside shinnie Quote
manc_don Posted September 25, 2018 Report Posted September 25, 2018 Hibs definitely shading it. Had the better of the chances, not sure why Boyle used his arm. Excellent free kick from ba though, extremely unlucky Quote
ayrshire_don74 Posted September 25, 2018 Report Posted September 25, 2018 shinnie isnt playing well trying hero shots wont work stuffy performance, feel we are vulnerable at back due to the master tactician Quote
LA-Don Posted September 25, 2018 Report Posted September 25, 2018 Red tv video anyone? What's going on, just logged in? Quote
manc_don Posted September 25, 2018 Report Posted September 25, 2018 Red tv video anyone? What's going on, just logged in? No idea, cut out pretty much a few mins into the second half Edit: Use the backup player Quote
Ten Caat Posted September 25, 2018 Report Posted September 25, 2018 Shinnie's demise has been incredible this season just hasn't got going at all. Even more worryingly Devlin has been terrible tonight. Donsdaft will be gutted that Ball has been by far our best player Quote
ayrshire_don74 Posted September 25, 2018 Report Posted September 25, 2018 i guess mcginn isnt on a weight training regime Quote
