Games coming thick and fast now.  Dundee's results have been improving of late but i've no idea if they're actually playing better or just getting the rub of the green.  Hoping our confidence continues to grow, and happily take a scrappy win.

Shinnie and Ferguson need to be rested, and if there was a game they'd probably be rested for, it would be this one.  Ideally we wouldn't change a winning combo, and i suspect McInnes will stick rather than rest.

Waiting at Welly airport

Flying and then waiting in Auckland airport

Stuck in jafa land waiting for my next flight

2-1 dons, McGinn and May

only fear is ball comes in for ferguson who probably needs a rest and then it becomes laboured and one dimensional , not sure forrester is ready or good enough nor gleeson but he needs to start using the squad otherwise some form of fatigue will set in , bit of a double edged sword

100% agree with that. Unless I'm mistaken young Ferguson has started every game this aseason.

Now I know he's got age on his side, but is increaingly looking like he needs a break.

This a guy that had only played something like 15 games in the top league prior to joining us in the summer.

Loath to change a winning team but as others have said I do think both Shinnie and Ferguson's form have dipped in recent weeks and Ferguson especially could probably do with a rest. Would like to see Forrester and/or Gleeson get starts as we need to find out now if either is going to contribute this season. Would keep May and Cosgrove as a pair up front for this one as do not see Dundee as any better than St Mirren so they should get some joy again although Dundee's defenders did handle Cosgrove easily back in August.

Oot  as public transport is shite in this country if you want to travel after 9pm.

Forecast a bit crap leading upto the game, but easing off just before K/O.Dundee on their day can be a bit of a banana skin, need to get at them from the off with a Livi second half type approach

Prediction - 3 - 1 Dons. May x3  That penalty at last opening the floodgates....

Hope you've nae started the wacky baccy min!

In all seriousness though, there is a player in Stevie May, he's just devoid of confidence in front of goal, he's had 3 clear cut opportunities in the last 2 games, not in one of those opportunities did I think or believe he'd score though, and neither did he. But this could be the start of him returning to that type of form that earned him a move down South, and clearly working with Cosgrove is presenting him opportunities, he really does need to start taking them though.

Can't see there being many changes, if any, to the 11 tomorrow night, so it's as you were, and I expect another tough game, won't be much in it, although we are capable of making sure there IS much in it. But I'll go another 2-1 ( Cosgrove, Considine ) COYR

The Hat reckon McLennan out 8-12 weeks with torn hamstring so there's one change. (FWIW they also reckon we won't see either GMS or Devlin till after the January break......Devlin apparently down in London seeing a specialist today)

I've been advocating resting Ferguson from after the sevco game but as he is now suspended for the Livi game prior to the break probably just keep him going now although I'd be fine with him starting on the bench against Dundee and leaving him there if everything goes ok but bringing him on after 55-60 if things not going to plan.

Wright I guess has to replace McLennan but this really has to be his last chance. If he doesn't take it punt him out on loan to a Championship club in January.

2-0        May (pen),  Logan

I think we'll see Cosgrove and May continue, both are on a scoring run. Wide picks itself with McGinn and Wright due to the others injured. I wonder if we'll see Tansey in the near future. I don't see where Forrester fits in if we play May and Cosgrove, and I don't think Gleeson is mobile enough to play one of the two in a 4-4-2.  I think we'll rotate Shinnie, Ferguson, Ball, and Tansey, possibly even see Dean Campbell, with Gleeson and Forrester only in the worst case.

Saw the McLennan post o'er on The Hat early this morning.

Given source andfact no one has nibbled, I took it with a pinch of salt.

I think it will be a tough game and can see the desire to rest some players.

With two tough games to come, I can see DM sticking.

Only 4 games to go till the break, manage the rest through less intensive training.

COME ON YOU REDS!

Would be surprised if this game goes ahead and if it does, the crowd will be tiny.

In fact, it's a night only for the die-hards. I was one once.

There are different motivating factors for die-hards, or at least for those who still have a conscious choice, habits being very hard things to break. Some wear loyalty as a badge of honour, not so much for the cause itself but more about themselves and their capacity to give loyalty. For some, it's a tribalist sense of belonging, to the crowd. There are those who use the football as a family-bonding conduit. Others have fuck all else in their lives and there will be a handful who genuinely love and understand the game and get their kicks from seeing it being kicked professionally. Although that tiny minority hardly applies to Aberdeen FC obviously, not this century anyway.
