Jute Posted January 17, 2019 Report Posted January 17, 2019 Two days before an important cup tie and no match thread! Manc is really dropping the ball these days. Should have a good few back from injury to face a team we have never beaten in a competitive fixture. As we currently don’t have a left back would expect Hoban or Reynolds to partner McKenna in the centre of defence and Considine to move to left back. Would think GMS would return to midfield with McLennan dropping to bench which would be a bit unfair on the lad as he has played well since GMS injury. If May is fit no change up front. Oot - at the moment Flat Local game probably Leith v Musselburgh Flat 3-0 GMS Cosgrove and McGinn Quote
Tyrant Posted January 17, 2019 Report Posted January 17, 2019 I was at Ochilview so I'm giving this one a miss. Quote
ayrshire_don74 Posted January 17, 2019 Report Posted January 17, 2019 a chance to play some fringe players ? stenny are horseshit Quote

Jute Posted January 17, 2019 Author Report Posted January 17, 2019 a chance to play some fringe players ? stenny are horseshit I remember thinking that prior to cup tie in 95. Turned out we were the ones who were horseshit. Given we have have just had a coupe of weeks off I see no reason not to start with the strongest team possible. By all means give some of the fringe players a run once we are winning the tie. Quote
tlg1903 Posted January 17, 2019 Report Posted January 17, 2019 Did we not stuff the huns the week before? Quote
Jute Posted January 17, 2019 Author Report Posted January 17, 2019 Did we not stuff the huns the week before? We did and that was only game we won for about 2 months from memory. Quote
BigAl Posted January 17, 2019 Report Posted January 17, 2019 Did we not stuff the huns the week before? Sure that was Aitken's first game in charge was it not and a 2-0 victory for us. Quote
RicoS321 Posted January 17, 2019 Report Posted January 17, 2019 Sure that was Aitken's first game in charge was it not and a 2-0 victory for us. Yep. Good game like. Quote
Stewart Posted January 17, 2019 Report Posted January 17, 2019 Full match is on YouTube(some hun channel though). Quote
RicoS321 Posted January 17, 2019 Report Posted January 17, 2019 Ace. Stuart McCall. Total fuck up. Thon Dodds header off the bar was a peach too, we were deserved winners that day. Quote
CvB Posted January 17, 2019 Report Posted January 17, 2019 Never beaten Stenhousemuir, so good chance to break the bogey. Quote
TheDeeDon Posted January 17, 2019 Report Posted January 17, 2019 I remember that Stenhousemuir game for the stick I took about the result in the days afterwards, probably like most of us, but hard to think it was 24 years ago, mental. Was it our worst ever result? Not quite as bad as the 9-0 Celtic game for me, but still a very, very sore one to take. I just looked at the time sheet from the 95 game and bar a couple of exceptions it was a good team we put out that day I don't expect too much problems at the weekend and expect a good win and hopefully see some squad players get a game, but I suspect we will be at full strength with it being the first match back after the break. In the South Stand for this one, since the prices were the same all over and looking forward to it. 5-1 Stevie May scoring all 5. Quote
Elgindon Posted January 17, 2019 Report Posted January 17, 2019 Oot - Up North this w/e Also fairly confident of a Stevie May goal fest. 6 - 1 Dons, May x4,Cozo and McGinn Quote
Goldie03 Posted January 17, 2019 Report Posted January 17, 2019 I have a confession to make - I didn't see dons score any goals in the games I was at in 2018 ( albeit not that many but still) I'm going on Saturday Quote
KennyFuckinPowers Posted January 17, 2019 Report Posted January 17, 2019 Think they are bottom of their league ( League 1? ) by all accounts, I can't see anything other than a good 4 or 5 horsing, McInnes will treat it like it should be. 5-0 Dons win ( Cosgrove x2, Considine x2, Wilson ) Quote
Madbadteacher Posted January 17, 2019 Report Posted January 17, 2019 I was at the Stenny game, got very, very, very drunk afterwards Quote
SeeBass Posted January 17, 2019 Report Posted January 17, 2019 Still can't believe Terry Christie my rector at Musselburgh Grammar School was Stenhousemuir boss when they beat us!! Quote
CtS Posted January 18, 2019 Report Posted January 18, 2019 I have a confession to make - I didn't see dons score any goals in the games I was at in 2018 ( albeit not that many but still) I'm going on Saturday You’re gonna see loads in ‘19. tlg1903 Posted January 18, 2019 Report Posted January 18, 2019 I wonder if losing to them in the 90's will be used by the management in this one. suspect we will horse them something in the region of 5-0. Hope we go with Lewis logan devlin mckenna lowe gms shinnie ferguson mclennan wilson cosgrove Quote
Ten Caat Posted January 18, 2019 Report Posted January 18, 2019 I'd be amazed if both GMS and McLennan start. Also with Devlin not featuring at all in the Dubai friendly can't help thinking he's still not quite 100%. Might be better leaving him another few days and return for the Killie match Quote
wee toon red Posted January 18, 2019 Report Posted January 18, 2019 Devlin’s injured. Lewis Logan Consi McKenna Lowe McGinn shinnie Ferguson GMS Stewart Cosgrove Quote
A llad insane Posted January 19, 2019 Report Posted January 19, 2019 Lets get into this lot from the start, erase the bad memories a wee bit, horrible day that was, weather wise & fitba wise Quote
KennyFuckinPowers Posted January 19, 2019 Report Posted January 19, 2019 It's as strong a line up as he could put out given the injury situation. I can't see anything other than a large goal to zero margin here. Hopefully Stewart hits the ground running. COYR Quote
