KennyFuckinPowers
Wes Burns, there was a strange one, scored a good header on his debut if I remember correctly, and I was at the Ayr cup game, down in Ayr, and he was miles ahead of anyone else on the pitch, he hit the woodwork three times I think, he was excellent that night. Just never kicked on and ended up being another Maynard, Parker etc.... I was at Michael Hector's debut as well, a friendly against FC Twente I believe, he was a class act, one I wish we could have got permanently. manc_don
Rory McCardle had an excellent career at Bradford prior to that. Saw him play them against Millwall actually. Always struck me as a likeable guy Superb effort Scotfree!

Ten Caat
I think everyone could tell that Hector wouldn't get a game for Chelsea barring a ridiculously horrendous run of injuries to their defenders. By joining them he was sacrificing his chance to play regularly at the top level in England but I guess the chance to make himself financially secure for life was difficult to turn down. I'm sure he would have received offers from clubs like Palace or Everton had he hung off and I'm certain he would have made himself a regular first choice at that kind of club. Instead spent his 4 years with Chelsea out on loan in the Championship and one season at Eintracht Frankfurt. I guess it's easy to criticise his decision...as I said, he' will now be financially secure for life. But with his talent, he should have been playing regularly in the EPL for years now. Jute
Frank Ross signs for Go Ahead Eagles. Hopefully for lad he stays fit as always thought he looked decent in his limited performances.
TheDeeDon
I hope Frank Ross goes on and develops into a player. I always thought he looked decent enough when we did see him.

DantheDon
Going back a bit to the Michael Hector situation, I read an article previously where he said that Chelsea was his club, so I'm sure that had a large bearing on him joining them. Obviously for his career it probably wasn't the best move in the end but its easy to say in hindsight.

Obviously for his career it probably wasn't the best move in the end but its easy to say in hindsight. I suppose the counter argument to it was that he could probably have signed for someone like Bournemouth or West Ham or Everton etc and played regularly for them but still would have won SFA whilst raking in a likely smaller (but still decent) wage. Wherever he ended up, it wasn't going to affect his position as a first-pick Jamaica international. And it's not like he wasn't playing at all...Chelsea had him loaned out pretty much all the time. He's now a multi-millionaire and will be a first choice in the EPL with Fulham. It's not a decision I would have made but I doubt he's regretting it one iota
