SeeBass
I know we ain't secured European football yet if at all for next season but let us have a bit of fun but no cheating!! Who would beat us First Round in continental competition then go on and win said trophy?? Which beaten team in initial question from same country as above winning side had also knocked us out First Round and were again losing finalists a few years earlier?? afc1903mad
Nah, mind blank on this one. Will look forward to seeing the answer. On a separate point, seeing as you bring up Europe and assuming Celtic beat Hearts, then we would be seeded for QR1 and QR2. SevCo and Killie would be seeded in QR1, Killie unseeded in QR2 and SevCo looking to just miss out on seeding in QR2. There are 8 seeding spots left and we know the following 4 countries will return a higher co-efficient: - EL23 (*) Cro 5.475 EL23 (*) Den 5.405 - 7.500 EL23 (*) Den 5.405 EL3 Sui 5.380 - 18.000 That leaves 4 spots. We would definitely take one of the spots if Celtic beat Hearts EL13 * Sco 4.425 - 5.500 If the better teams on paper from Isreal, Slovakia and Romania qualify, it would push SevCo out of the seeding. CW Rom 4.000 - 12.500 CW * Slo 3.750 - 18.500 EL2 * Isr 3.725 - 12.000 EL2 * Rom 3.500 - 23.000 There's also a Bulgarian qualifier from QR1 that is seeded to be above SevCo EL2 Bul 3.500 - 27.000 In summary, if all the results are as expected, SevCo get pushed down to the 2nd highest co-efficient unseeded side in QR2. They need two results unexpected out of the 6 available to get seeded in QR2 The 6 teams that can push SevCo out of QR2 seeding: - Ludogorets Razgrad - Bulgaria - 27.00 FCSB Romania - 23.00 NK Maribor Slovakia - 18.50 Astra Giurgiu - Romania - 12.50 Hapoel Beer-Sheva Israel - 12.00 Aberdeen - Scotland 5.50 (Celtic beat Hearts)
afc1903mad
Still some teams to be finalised but we would be seeded to draw one of these teams so far in QR1. SeeBass
Not Siroki Brijeg again though maybe Balzan of Malta or Chikhura Sachkhere in Georgia for some fun within said sun!!
afc1903mad
We play Conah’s Quay in a friendly at the end of June. I imagine that will be cancelled should we draw them on 19th June.
tom_widdows
At least all the Kazak teams are also seeded so no chance of treking to the far east (until the next round at least)
SeeBass
The thing which always gets me about Europe nowadays is that there seems to be a new country entered into the qualifying each season like Kosovo and Gibraltar a year or two ago. Still can't believe we played Kairat Almaty who were in CENTRAL ASIA!!
Ten Caat
Israeli clubs have played in European competition for decades (well they couldn't play in Asian competitions for obvious reasons) Also the vast majority of the former USSR (and now modern day Russia) is in Asia...it has a Pacific Coast and borders China and North Korea! Kazakhstan I think has been granted access to European competition through "grandfather rights" as being part of the former USSR. Doesn't make it right though... tom_widdows
Suppose we should be thankful FC Luch Vladivostok don't play in the Russian Premier League at the moment https://goo.gl/maps/kE4JEgqsdQoMzk1H9

SeeBass
Eintracht Frankfort beat us 2-1 on aggregate First Round of UEFA Cup Season 1979-80 then overcame Borussia Monchengladbach 3-3 in Final on away goals rule. Seven years earlier Monchengladbach had beat us 9-5 on aggregate First Round of UEFA Cup but lost two legged Final 3-2 to Liverpool.
